I love local bakeries!. I have a hard time passing by a locally operated bakery. Especially when I’m riding my bicycle up the long hill out of Gibson’s. Checking out this branch of Wheatberries was a perfect excuse to catch my breath and get something sweet to eat as I pedalled to Sechelt. (Then back to the ferry dock in Langdale and home to Vancouver on the same day — take that, you out-of-shape people!) I bought a cranberry-pumpkin seed muffin. It had moist, heavy dough, could have used more cranberries, but it was a perfect treat when I stopped to rest my legs at a beach along the Georgia Strait. There was so much good stuff in Wheatberries that I would have bought more, but I’m trying to lose weight, not carry it around in my panniers.
Wheatberries is OPEN at 818 Gibsons Way. Wheatberries is actually located at 818 Gibsons Way, down the hill just past Elphinstone High School. Full cafe, bakery and light meals, with locally roasted organic fairtrade coffee. Only the 1057 Highway 101 Gibsons address has switched to MORE, just to avoid confusion 🙂

Wheatberry Bakery Gibsons. Beyond fantastic staff. The manager went out of his way to return my purse when I left it on the weekend. He paged the ferry terminal to make sure I didn’t leave the Sunshine coast without my purse. The thoughtfulness and concern was unbelieveable. REAL customer service when it really counts. Please let the manager on sunday night Aug. 26 know that he is fantastic
