$10 for a bucket of rice ??. We bought a groupon and it’s $168 for 10 people. However we as a group of 8 people were barely full after the meal. We had to go eat more at a local food court…It’s my first time there and I’ve heard how pricey is this restaurant and I have to agree with it. There’s a pot of mushroom soup included in the set menu and I checked it’s $90 for the soup if you order that alone. To be honest, it is not that tasty and there’s only chicken and mushroom in the soup and I’m not sure how come they can charge $90 for it! There’s supposed to be one more dish but the server told me the groupon has a typo and it’s only an appetizer! When the bill came, I was surprised to find they add $19 service charge to the bill and charge us $10 for a bucket of rice! They also charged you $5 for tea. I don’t think I’ll come back to this restaurant as there are a lot of other similar restaurants to choose from at a not rip-you-off price.
Worst service ever. Our family was traveling in BC and found this place when we were driving by. We went there yesterday at 9:00pm and were told that they could not serve us because the place was about to close. The hours on the door state that they close at 10:00pm.We decided to give it another try this evening and got there around 6:00pm. The food was OK, but the service was horrible. We ordered spicy food and were very thirsty. The waiter passed us many times, but did not refill our glasses even once. After we finished the dinner, we waited for a long time and no body brought the check. Finally, I went to the front desk and asked for the check myself. The place was about 1/3 empty and at least 5 or 6 waiters/waitresses around. They were not busy at all. The food is very pricy. We were also charged for rice. It cost $5.00 for our family (2 adults, 2 kids). Tea is $5 for a pot so we did not order it.
Mediocre food, mediocre service. Worst cashier!!!. Food is ok, little overpriced. Tea is extra five dollars and make sure you ask for price when ordering fresh fish dishes because they don’t really inform you of the price on the menu or from the waiter. The service is minimal. When paying for the bill, for some unknown reason the cashier had a attitude as if he did not want to give me change. He slammed each quater on the counter hard and was making me uncomfortable. I am a generous tipper when I receive good service but he was acting like he did not care or want any tips from me at all. Will not return to this restaurant.
Disappointing. The food was bland.Shanghai dumplings…thick skin and no juiceBeef in hot chili sauce…not spicy at ALL!! Just oily, oily, oily. And had some mediocre noodles.Seriously could get much better food at the Aberdeen food court
Best Lunch. When arriving, make sure they give you the lunch menu…it’s just a piece of paper. The prices change sometimes monthly, but usually never more then $8.50.With that you get the best hot and sour soup I have ever had,a bowl of rice and your choice of a main.We usually get the peanuts and peppers with chicken which is like eating crack….and the ginger beef, then share.Taxes in at under $20 for the 2 of us.
Very authentic Szechuan dishes but pricey for what it is. If you like spicy foods this is the place. Not for the casual Chinese food lover. Tan Tan noodles are a must.
$$$. Among the dishes we ordered, the most memorable was the hanging fatty pork slices from a bamboo rack. It was truly spicy and fatty and very unique but I don’t think I fit the targeted demographic of this restaurant: Specifically, I don’t drive a $90K plus 2010 model year or newer Mercedes/BMW/Audi. The prices are exorbitant for what the product is, which is pretty standard Chinese/Szechuan fare. I won’t be back just so I can spend my dollars on some of the other restaurants I have yet to visit in this great city.
