Kitcho Izakaya is located at a small plaza across Real Canadian Superstore on No 3 Road in Richmond. It is pretty hidden at the corner of the plaza. You should look for a sign and walk down a corridor for getting to its entrance. They don’t serve wasabi like most places. You might have to ask the server if you need extra wasabi. Chef makes fresh wasabi, and he suggests to put the smallest amount on top of the fish if adding extra wasabi (rather than mixing wasabi into the soy sauce). Typical Japanese style. After tasting the Kinmedai (Golden Eye Snapper/Splendid Alfonsino) and Hokkaido uni sashimi, I don’t want to try others. Presentation of Chef’s Sashimi was amazing! A hidden gem. It is a definite must go Japanese restaurant in Richmond. Food: Must Try!Service: Price: $50-$100 for two (dinner)Kids: A-Ok! (has udon, zo sui )Presentation: Parking: Explore the menu: Hokkaido uni sashimi, salmon sashimi, beef sashimi, Rainforest Roll, Ebi Mayo, Parmesan Beef RollTips:make reservationask for daily featurestry for Chef’s recommendation or omakasedo NOT mix wasabi into the soy sauceWould I Return: Yes
it was a very busy friday night so service was a little slow. I ordered the assorted tempura, assorted sashimi and a rainforest roll. everything was tasty and fresh. the rainforest roll had a bit of an interesting tangy flavor from the mayo that seemed to go well with the kiwi and shrimp.
Friendly service, fresh ingredients directly imported from Japan. Great sushi for an Izakaya. Their Kushi is also great quality. Will recommend.
good service good food family friendlylimited parking average price if I had to choose one dish : foie gras would i go back ? Yes
Service was bad. Nobody wanted to take our order. Nobody wanted to take our money to pay the bill. They prioritize and cater to friends that they know. It’s also way overpriced for just above average sushi. They don’t even tell you the price for 1/4 of the menu! They just say MP! Jeez! You pay for the nicer environment. You can get cheaper sushi of similar or better quality at restaurants that don’t look as nice. This is a one and done sushi destination for me unfortunately.
