Food and service was great! Sushi was fresh and thick. Big portions. Also liked the udon noodles. Tried beef and chicken udon. I would recommend the beef udon. The chicken meat didn’t have enough flavor but the broth for both was amazing.
My friends and I came here for drinks only around 11pm and were surprised that the waitress was extremely rude and told us we needed to pay an extra $50 of food since we had only ordered drinks. We asked if we could order another sake but she refused and told us we had to order another $50 of food in order to get our drinks. On their menu, it says there is a minimum $20 charge of food per person but this is extremely ridiculous. Most restaurants only require $5-10 minimum charge per person and it doesn’t matter if it’s food or drinks. Won’t be coming back for sure.

I use to be a regular customer from day one when the had their grand opening. Over the years service has gone down hill, really down hill. I must have spent atleast ten grand here over the years eating at this location. With alot of competition with better quality and better prices, I’ve even told all my friends to go elsewhere. Yes it’s a great place to socialize and eat, but I rather go to zakushi or gu. Atleast their staff would appreciate my money…I think manzo is now loosing money hence the minimum 20/person charge.0/5 for service3/5 for food0/5 for value.
Beware! Each customer has to spend at least $20 (not including alcohol), we did not know this type of thing existed. The menu says $15 (which was shocking enough), but when we started ordering the waiter informed us in a very rude manner that we had to spend at least $20 each. There were eight of us in our party, our plan was to share the dishes and order a few drinks as well. Again, the menu clearly states $15 per person, so we are not sure why he told us we had to spend $20. We stopped ordering and left. We ended up going to Matsuyama across the street (much cheaper and nicer staff). Don’t give these people your hard earned money, stay away!
If you’re looking for a spot to enjoy some brews and meat on a stick and the company around you, this is a great spot. Not a lot of tables, but that’s to be expected being located on Alexandra Road. Lot’s of other food on the menu, which I will be going back to try for sure.
Throat was lacerated after eating there. I had a FISH BONE from a takoyaki (octopus balls with absolutely no fish in it) that I ordered lodged in my throat for 10 minutes. After I got rid of the fish bone, my throat was so sore I couldn’t eat anymore. My throat was lacerated for a few days after until it healed and I could eat solids again… 0/10 would not recommend!!!
