  Toku is absolutely one of my familys favorite Japanese restaurants in Richmond area. The interior is spacious and clean. The food is delicious, authentic and fresh. What I love the most is that its kids friendly. They have kids utensils, kids meals, and even a play area to keep your little ones entertained while you enjoy the dining experience. Here are some my favorite dishes at Toku:1. Ahuri Charashi Don: the rice is nicely seasoned and the fishes are seared perfectly. Always fresh 2. Lobster Sashimi 2 courses: one of the best priced lobster sashimi ($45. Add Udon is $5 extra). The second course comes with Lobster Hot Pot. The soup comes with tofu, Chinese cabbage, vermicelli. The portion is huge and the soup is very flavorful.3. Pork Katsu Don: the katsu is deep fried to perfection: crispy and tender. 4. Beef Yaki Udon: unlike many Japanese restaurants that make yaki Udon with Terriyaki sauce, Toku offers a very authentic taste of traditional Japanese Yaki Udon, using mentsuyu sauce, creating a perfect balance of savory and salt. 5. Unagi Don: the Unagi is tender and juicy. The portion is descent.They also have amazing Japanese desserts that will fulfill your sweet crave. In short, all the dishes at Toku is very delicious and I will highly recommend this restaurant to everyone.

  This is a restaurant that no need to try. Food is plain, same as those small street fast food kind of sushi store, even not as good as those. Overpriced for sure, service is okay. Yeah, won’t go back

  December, 16, 2018 @ dinnerVERY DISAPPOINTING DINNER.. CHECK YOUR BILL BEFORE PAY.I went there for dinner with friends tonight. I was so disappointed for their sushi, too hard for us. Everything smaller portion as last month and the price are more expensive than the menu from their website. The food quality is not as good as last time. SO DISAPPOINTED. Service was so slow with less than 6 tables of customers at 7:30pm. What happen with this place today, everything downhill ??!!4 of us had:3 bottles of black asahiTamago nigiri sushi — too hard and solid, no layers(on toku website $2 each)Salmon battera x 1 order of 6 pcson toku website $13On my bill charged $13.50Foie gras nigiri sushion toku website $5.5 x 4 pcs $22On my bill $6 4 = $24Uni nigiri sushi x 4 pcs… 2 pieces was fresh,2 pcs was fishyon toku website $4 4 = $16On my bill $6 4 = $24Chicken teriyaki roll $6.5 ..extremely dried and tastelessChawan mushisteamed egg x 2 orderson toku website $62= $12On my bill $6.5 2 = $13Saba shio …on toku website $12On my bill $13Prawn tempura ..on toku website $15On my bill $16Ika taki 1 orderon toku website $13On my bill $14Tebasaki.. wings x 1 order $8I ordered Saba nigiri sushi, its end up gave me o4 pcs of salmon nigiri sushi, we tried to return it, but took them 15 minutes to show up, its end up, we just eat it, don’t even bother to tell them for those $2 each sushi.NOVEMBER, 18, 2018.I found out their menu prices are way cheaper than.. they just open… almost everything half price… why not give it a try for my mom’s birthday dinner tonight?I tried to order their black asahi beer, but too bad its sold out.. so we ordered 1 large kirin beer with 2 glasses instead.So, 4 of us had tried their…Lobster sashimi …. it’s so fresh… the lobster was still moving, while we were eating his meat.Lobster soup in hot pot…After we finished the lobster sashimi, they took it and cooked it with mixed veggies in soup for us… it taste so sweet from veggies and lobster… yummy…4 pcs of Foie gras nigiri sushi… so smooth and big piece.. so cheap… just only $6 each4 pcs of Mirugai nigiri sushi… so fresh and sweet, but too small, no wonder so cheap… just only less than $5 each4 pcs of Uni nigiri sushi… so fresh… so cheap… less than $5 each4 pcs of hamachi toro, 4 pcs of unagi and 4 pcs of tuna toro nigiri sushi… nothing specialOriginal mango roll .. look like sliced mango top of California roll… the rice was too loose… everything falling apart, while we tried to grap itRain forest roll… sliced mango top of chopped scallop roll, not worth for $14Ika yaki… we love it, crispy outside, tasty, soft and not chewy inside4 pcs of lamb chop… so soft and tastyPrawn tempura… batter was too thick, prawns and dipping sauce was tastelessWe brought our own red bean matcha mousse birthday cake from saint Germain bakeryIf not, I want to try their matcha tiramisu and matcha brulee for sure.. maybe try it next time.4 of us paid $255 + 20 % tipsServices are good and fast..We will go back there again for sure..

  The Best A la cart that has all variety of rare features such geoduck, large uni, lobster sashimi and much more goodies to select.The best Japanese dining experience that especially welcomes American Express credit card and all other cards.This is number #1 on my list, if you have a chance, drop by,10 Stars Rating.

  Terrible experience!! They charge twice of our money! my friend wanted to pay my bill so they paid already without myself knowing and I paid again.Yet they also accepted my payment. In total, they accepted our payment twice and it was not cheap as well. We went back and want to argue and get the money back even with two receipts, they took the receipts away and did NOT give us our money back. DONT GO!
