Top Gun was one of the first High end Hong Kong style restaurant in Richmond. We tried before and quality were pretty consistent. This is the first time in years that we went back, and they never disappoint us. Their dimsums were all well made. And love their ancient style tea cups/pots. They are definitely still one of the best in town.

July 12, 2016Wound up at this place after my sister told me she was craving for their Chicken Wing Sticky Rice. We came here around 130PM, and unfortunately it was all sold out. The overall was delicious. However I didn’t try some dishes since I don’t eat those and my sister wanted them. The ha gao was so tasty though. I don’t know what they added to it, but I ate like 5 pieces! We noticed other tables had teapots over candles. Didn’t get a chance to ask what kind of tea it was. Darn.FYI, parking is horrible here. Better off with street parking.
So far Best dim sum of all Richmond. By that, I mean food quality (not too oily, not too salty, texture is right, etc) and service (yes, there’s actually service, like polite and actually caring service at a very Cantonese restaurant!) the only down side is that there’s not a lot of parking stalls.
I’ve been going to this place for years now and ever since they set up the gold membership card discounts the food prices has risen like crazy. The hotpot is still tasty though !
Would not go again. Have always been tempted to try this place out since it is part of the top gun chain of restaurants. But after my first visit..i have to say i definitly won’t go back again. There was a long wait for our dishes to come considering the amount of tables being served wasn’t significantly more than any of your typical chinese restaurants. The dim was not great at all…the haw gow were much smaller then other dim sum restaurants and not properly shaped. All the fried dim sum we ordered were soagy with oil……there were no crisp at all….i expected better from this restaurant chain
Not worth the wait. Service and food quality are not reflected in the price and the wait time. There are better restaurants around.
