I would give this 0 stars if I could. The service was inexcusably slow, and the food wasn’t even worth the long wait.I ordered in advance by telephone and was told it would be about 20 minutes. However, when I arrived 20 minutes later, the waitress at the counter told me it would be a few more minutes. No problem, I sat down and waited. 10 minutes went by…nothing. I asked again and was told by a different waiter it would be ANOTHER 20 minutes. I complained, and then they said they would ask the kitchen to go faster. Basically, if I hadn’t said anything, they would have been content to let me wait indefinitely. All in all, it took over 55 MINUTES to get my order, almost triple what I was told over the phone. As I waited, several Door Dash / Skip the Dishes delivery people came by to pick up big orders. Other patrons who were dining in also seemed to have been waiting a long time. It’s clear that their kitchen is ill-equipped to handle large volumes. To top it off, they didn’t even get the order right! Half my order had been completed and was sitting out for 30 minutes, while the fried rice dish was being made (it doesn’t take half an hour to make fried rice). And then they gave me the wrong fried rice. So I waited almost an hour, lost over half my lunch break, for lukewarm food that I didn’t even want. I was offered no compensation.Never giving this place my business again.
Had the three spice pork hock; really good and great portions! I feel like the interior design could be done better so that its more comfortable; the menu design could do with a bit more hierarchy. Other than that the food is good.
Came here to try their famous pork hock. It was OK. Was expecting slices of meat but got random sized chunks..with quite a bit of fat actually. Garlic sauce was tasty. Noodle in soup was good. Broth was hot just the way I like it and was light. Noodles were perfectly chewy. My husband had the XO chili sauce BBQ pork fried rice. Was a hefty size. Tasted OK with a little kick. Marinated tofu was a generous portion. Five spice beef roll was soft, light and tasty. Service was a bit off though. Servers seemed to be confused where they were supposed to deliver the food..
Horrible beef noodle soup. The beef is not even beef. More like the kinds from the T&T frozen meat that you can self serve right away. Would not go again. Not recommended.
Uncle Lu is famous for their pork hock. We have ordered the Pork Hock Rice, marinated pork ears, Taiwanese popcorn chicken and rolled egg cakes with shredded pork. The Pork hock very tender and flavorful but the side dishes that came with the rice was kind of bleh. The pork ears has no taste. Rolled egg were just okay. Pop corn chicken was tasty. I feel they have lost their passion in providing good authentic Taiwanese food over the years. But overall the food were not bad.
I usually don’t write a review, but I am appalled by today’s dining experience. After 5 minutes of sitting down, still didn’t get tea or water. They had brought over an empty cup. I wave to the waitress to take my order. She ignores me and takes the order of the table next to mine who arrived after me.Finally I get to place my order of Marinated egg with meat sauce in noodle soup. I ask for Vermicelli and no onions. She takes my empty cup to the back to fill it with tea. How efficient.Food arrives after 10 minutes, which is not bad considering the restaurant was packed during lunch hour. However, the noodle look nothing like vermicelli. I ask the waitress what type of noodle it is. She replies it’s oil noodle. So I tell her I actually ordered Vermicelli. All would be fine if she takes it away, but instead she stares at me like and says ohhhh Kay…with a distressed sigh. Turns around and talks to her coworker in Chinese about my order and checks their computer. Comes back a minute later and asks me what noodle I want. Vermicelli please. She doesn’t get it. She gets me to point at the choice of noodle in the menu. Still doesn’t get it. So I whip out my phone and show her a photo of vermicelli. Wow. Reluctantly, she decides to replace my order. So far, no apology. 20 minutes later. Food arrives! I’m so eager to try out the food, but it looks less than appealing. The meat sauce is really just meat with no sauce. Looks like them boiled it in plain water. The soup tasted alright though. Throughout the whole lunch, no one came once to check if I needed a refill on tea. This is a Chinese restaurant so perhaps level of service one expects would be lower, but don’t they want good tips? Back home now, been experiencing abdominal pains for the last 6 hours. I’m calling it – food poisoning. This is going to be a hell of a fun Saturday night.
