The great thing about Continental Centre, if you can find a parking spot, is choice of restaurants. If your first choice is full, there is probably an excellent second or third choice with as many tempting treats. Yuu is cash only and as I checked my cash position upon stepping through the door, the host and I shared a laugh. The friendliest guy in the place, I felt like I could get to know him and go to a game or something…does it seem like I need friends? (just kidding). The rest of the wait staff by contrast, seemed a little on the dour side like everyone was having a bad day (it happens). They kept their eyes on the floor and getting service was a little difficult and frustrating (is this an HK restaurant?). Fortunately, we are all about the food and are willing to accept a challenge to eat. The Japanese style Pizza should be named a pancake as that is that is what it is. It is a very tasty pancake however with a nice selection of shredded Nori, Japanese Mayo and Bonito flakes. My partner likes to watch the Bonito flakes dance around as they melt into the hot pancake. It was very moist and enjoyable with a bit of seafood. The Deep Fried Tentacles in Mild Sriracha Mayo also hit the spot. A crispy light batter that I could not put my finger on until later. It was the White Spot chicken batter that I have not had in 30 years (my food memory is good but I have to write down the name of the new guy at work that I met yesterday) not spiced but crisp. There could have been a little more sauce to go with the generous portion of squid. Finally came a Kimchi and Pork on Rice in Hot Stone Pot set with Miso and Banchan. The stone pot did its work well as the rice along the outside was crispy (worth the price of admission). It was a generous portion with mild Kimchi and tasty pork. The miso soup, not usually something to get excited about, was mild but had an interesting selection of nori, green onions and tofu. Wait staff, I hope you are feeling better today. Your restaurant offers a large selection of things that I want to try so we will be back! yeswereeatingagain.com
What a surprise! This place is great and I would recommend this place for anyone looking for a reasonably priced and hearty bowl of ramen.Ordered:Yuu’s poutine Really surprised how good this was. It’s a takoyaki crossed with a poutine minus the octopus with crunchy fries with a soft centre. Tomato ramen with chickenThe portion was huge and the broth tasted great. Generous amounts of chicken and the ramen had great al debate texture. Only wished the broth was thicker.
Came for for lunch. The place is spacious and quite busy. The staff is friendly and efficient. I ordered the tomato soup ramen with fried chicken. The soup was reasonable, not very salty like most ramen soup. The ramen was also alright. The chicken was a little oily but reasonable.
