The service and food at Kami is excellent. Their seared tuna salad is possibly the best salad I’ve had at a Japanese restaurant. One small downside is that their rolls are a little too wide and large for my liking but it was delicious nonetheless. I’d definitely recommend Kami of you’re looking for good Japanese food.
First time here was two days ago, for dinner. We will be back. We had the ‘dinner for two’ plus a small calamari salad. More than enough food. It was all delicious. The restaurant inside is a nice surprise – not apparent from the storefront. Very gracious, polite staff
My go-to Japanese restaurant in South Surrey. Their quality has proven to be consistent every time I went. I really recommend their tempura udon. The portion is so big I usually have to share with someone. Its great for a cold rainy day. Their Ishi-Yaki, which is a stone pot rice bowl really lacked sauce hence was more dry than I expected. But there were a lot of ingredients in it. They also have a large selection of specialty rolls. They have a sushi called the six shooters thats a salmon aburi sushi similar to Mikus salmon oishi aburi sushi. But the slices are much thicker than Mikus and the rice isnt pressed as tightly (falls apart easily).
I’m a regular at kami sushi, thought it was time to finally write a review so I could give my menu recommendations to those who are curious to venture there. My top menu picks are the angry jalapeno, white snow roll, ebiyonnaiase, and the spicy chirashi. I’ve tried most of the stuff on the menu but these are dishes I order when I take other people there, they are flavorful and different from what you may find at other Japanese restaurants. Service can sometimes be off, but not terrible. I would recommend it if you live on the south side of Alex fraser, otherwise if your on the other side you may have better options.
Love love love this place. Come here all the time…the kids don’t want to go anywhere else! A cozy little place with consistent, good quality sushi…
I travel accross North America monthly; Kami is one of my top 5 spots to eat. Always great service, food is very good with a decent price. I’ve tried sushi places all over and this one stacks up there.Clean restaurant, fantastic Japanese cuisine; you’ve got to give this place a try if your in the area!
On another level compared to other restaurants around the area. If you feel like sushi, definitely go to Kami. Every single time I have gone there I have eaten great sushi. Even though there are many good sushi restaurants in the area, Kami is on another level. They have the best sushi I have ever tried. The price is not bad and the service is good, so I will only keep coming back.If you haven’t been, you should definitely check it out.
