I took my family to the Observatory for my dad’s birthday and let’s just say it was a memorable one-in a bad way. The disclaimer about window seats is true, there is no guarantee at all. And if you don’t get the window seat, the views really aren’t great. I made reservations a week in advance and noted in the special requests that this was a special occasion for us so we’d really like a window seat. I called again later and they told me they will see once we get there. In the past, restaurants would tell me that but somehow would always find a way to give us the best service especially if it is for a special occasion, however not at the observatory. After talking to the staff multiple times during the night, we finally sat at a window table for dessert. It was beautiful but probably not worth the money unless you are lucky enough to sit by the window. Also, when I was about to use my fork, I saw remains of food on it and was quite disgusted to see this at a fine dining restaurant. Much better off going to Altitudes which is the bistro next door for better views and their staff were great as well.
Best halibut i ever had and even their steak was amazing. Good quality and reasonable price. I love the view as well specially at sunset. It is perfect for dates or romantic dinner. I will surely visit this place again. One of my fav place in BC.Keep the good job up.
Inconsistent. I’ve been to this restaurant three times. The most recent visit was for Dine Out and it was such a disappointment. The service during dine out was noticeably worst than normal dinner service. Our waiter was rarely present, slow in collection of finished plates, inattentive in refilling glasses and frequently bumped into us whilst collecting dishes.Onto the food. Each course had 2 selections. My party ordered one of every dish from the dine out menu. The appetizer portions were rather small. The seared albacore tuna came with three pieces and no greens to accompany it. The salad appetizer was dressed well. The entres were Fraser Valley Pork and a salmon dish. The pork was way too salty, the potatoes were cold and the sauces bled all over the plate. The salmon was relatively small and slightly over cooked. The desserts were probably the most pleasant of all the dishes that night. The panna cotta was plated nicely and had great flavours. The squash bread tastes like banana bread however the torched marshmallow meringues were overly sweet. My first couple visits here were pretty good. It is disappointing to see that service is poor only because of Dine Out.
Waste Of Time And Money. Never again!Thought we would give it another chance but nothing has changed. Two bite appetizer for $16, cold meat for $40, no desert as we just wanted to leave. My husbands steak was overcooked and cold an my pork was raw and also cold.We asked why the restaurant was filled with loud smelly skiers and screaming babies at 10:00 pm and were told they changed their regulations to generate revenue as the resort is in financial trouble. It is time for a new so called chef as Dino L Gazolla obviously can not cut it.This picture is of chef Dino.
