I think they have decent breakfast here, I particularly liked the pesto chicken sandwich but the other chicken sandwich I did not like. Coffee is normal, a bit sweet – the lady prepared it for us.
I had to add this business to yelp because I was so impressed! I am celiac and my coworker was looking for a breakfast/brunch spot in the Guildford area. It is right across Guildford mall. Not only did he separately cook my hash browns and bacon in a separate pan for cross contamination reasons, but the owner went out of his way to tell me if I wanted next time to call before I come in, so he can make it and get it started because it takes longer/make everything more gluten free friendly with cross contamination. I had 2 poached eggs, bacon, 1/2 avocado and hash browns. I coulsnf be more pleased with how great it was!!! A must go. I will go anytime I am working in the Guildford area again. Also has tons of lunch options for the average person as well! Also my meal was under 10$ with tea and fruit as well. Big portions.
I love taking a blind roll of the dice when it comes to places like this. I always go in hoping to be wowed, but I’m usually happy to walk away satisfied. In this particular case, I was just short of wowed, and slightly better than satisfied. You can tell a real effort is put in here and the quality refelcts that. The place isn’t much for atmosphere, but when it comes to leaving you satisfied, it really does the job.
I stumbled on Happy Jack’s the last day of a nearby conference and the only downside is now I know it’s there but I’ll be too far to just pop in for more excellent food. Probably none of the people jamming those chain food-boxes nearby realize Happy Jack’s is there. It’s kind of tucked away, even though it’s near the corner of 2 major streets. Modest little sign, etc. But if people just knew about this lunchtime alternative, the food-box places would lose lots of customers. They had friendly service and served us faster than most of the so -called fast food places. But our lunches had a slow food taste, especially those yummy soups, like homemade mushroom and their seafood chowder. To top it off, Happy Jack’s also has reasonable prices. And the shrimp in my chowder was SO fresh. I won’t be eating anywhere else next time I’m near Guildford mall.
