Fried rice is great but the pho is hit-or-miss. They use a slightly wider rice noodle than usual, and it sometimes comes out slightly too firm. Soup is not very oily like Pho Tam, slightly sweet but lacks any sort of depth to the flavour. The meat on my last visit was terrible – very stiff and I could see people sitting at other tables couldn’t take it either.
Decent enough place for pho, vermicelli, salad rolls, and spring rolls. There are better restaurants though so i would only come to Kim Hoangs when i feel lazy as the location is very convenient.
11/7/13 We just rtn having lunch in Kim Hoang Vietnamese rest. Menu: Lunch menu the usual from entree to soup,curry & rice, variety of cooked noodles . Serves both veg &non veg.For entree we had crisp Wontan served with sweet chilli sauce,warm &tasty.Diners be aware that the filling in the crisp wontan is either pork or chicken liver not meat.For the main meal I had Chicken Hor Fun noodle soup, to warm me up on a cold afternoon When I first tasted it, it felt blend & watered down. For an Asian dish I was surprised not being able to taste ginger or other condiments. I had to request for chilli sauce, salt & pepper to spice it up. Rather disappointing.The service was quick maybe there were only few diners.For Credit Card minimum $30.00Atmosphere: clean, tidy &friendlyLocation: No adjacent carpark. be ready to drive around looking for a space to park the car & be willing to walk remaining distance.
Hands down Best PHO EVER!!! This place has the BEST pho I’ve ever tried! The place is always packed, and its been around surrey for a LONG time!The prices on the menu are VERY inexpensive! For my boyfriend and me to have a large# 8, a bowl of pho is not even 16$ for the two of us!Hits the spot every time!
Bun bo hue- surprisingly delicious!Ordered this spicy soup to go-ingredients packaged separately as they should. Roast beef was so tender and lots of it for less than $9! Ingredients/flavor fresh! Salad rolls quite tasty- just remember to ask for mint leaves to included!
Anything but the pho. Wow the broth for their pho is really bad here. Strangely sweet and chock full of msg. Not recommended. Did, however, really enjoy their non-pho offerings. Got a combo platter that included vermicelli, 2 mini spring rolls, salad roll, pork skewer, and veggies. Asked for the vermicelli to be switched to rice cause it was so cold outside. Rice seemed a bit old/dry but other than that, everything on this dish was really good. Veggies were fresh and crisp, meat was flavorful and juicy, salad roll was super fresh, even the accompanying sauces were tasty. Love the deep fried wontons here even tho they’re usually overcooked. They just taste so good! The last plate was a sauted chicken n veggie dish. Tasted pretty good… Can’t remember the name Service is verrry curt here. Almost to the point of being rude. And if it is slow, the noise of the servers talking amongst each other in their language can get really loud.Poor service but considering the price point, I still like this place for its non-pho menu selections
Most delicious place versus 10 other places I’ve tried in the whole lower mainland. I will keep searching for a better one but this will be tough
