Stunningly Horrible.. It serves me right; I read the reviews and went to the buffet anyway. My 10-year-old really wanted to try it, so I took him. For the two of us, an adult and a child, the bill came to $40 (including one beer, I’ll admit)… which I would have happily paid if the food was good, but it was absolutely abysmal. Despite hearing the ribs were tough and inedible (completely true), I thought that the raved-about lasagna, pizza and salad bar would at least be enough to give me some great choices. They weren’t. The salad bar was average – decent selection, but pretty basic and not the highest quality food. Several pasta salads to choose from, but all with a plain, mayonnaise base and no real spices or anything to make them stand out. The lasagna – the raved-about meat sauce I’d read about – tasted a lot like something out of a can. The pizza was absolutely cold… I mean, touch-it-and-can’t-discern-a-trace-of-warmth cold. The dessert buffet was a selection of pies and squares straight out of Safeway. I’m not a huge food snob… but for $20 per person, you can do a whole lot better. Won’t be returning.

Ugh. Surly servers, tough and inedible buffet items… I will most definitely NOT be returning. In the 2 hours we were there, the only time we were approached by one of the FOUR waitresses on the floor was when we called them over to ask for more coffee, hot water, etc. Some of us were drinking alcohol; not once did a server ask us if we wanted anything more.At the price of 17.95 for the buffet, I expected the food to be much fresher. The pizza crusts were absolutely grim with sogginess, the ribs so tough they could not be cut with a knife (and I nearly choked trying to chew and swallow them, so gave up after the first bite). The lasagna was cold and slimy. On the upside, the salads were OK. But even there, the pasta salads had started to congeal.Sorry, Jim’s, you will not get a recommendation from me. Or anybody else (there were 9 adults and 7 children at our reserved table) who was there. The a la carte fish and chips was so greasy that it took 3 napkins to blot off the fat. The only light at the end of this tunnel was the French Onion soup, which was rated as quite good.

The owner refuses, without exception, to provide a separate meat sauce that does not contain MSG used in the Pizza and Lasagne. These two items are the only things on the menu that are not horrible. The MSG is overboard.

Staff are pretty unhappy, but the pizza is of high quality with tons of toppings.

Meh. I like this place only because the tzatiki tastes great. grante di havent done the buffet… probably because i generally loathe buffets. bbq chicken pizza is good. but overall it really is too expensive for the quality of food you are actually getting.

  • Mapleridge Guy

Worst food in mapleridge….taste like crap looks like crap when we called the owner said i dont have time to talk to you and hung up. Gf called when they opened and he yelled at her saying i dont have time to talk to you about it and slammed the phone down…. If you want good food call sopranos pizza ir monas pizza dont waste you cash on garbage food.

Worth the money. I usually go Upstairs to the Lookout for the Buffet. Food would be about a 7/10 but for the price and the amount I will keep coming back.
