Second time to be here for Siu Mai and Taro Oreo Slush with Pearls and it was very good. The place is not busy this time so we got our table immediately. The restaurant was very nice although the music is a bit loud. Took more than 20 minutes to wait for our food. Will definitely go back again
Think of the food here as an incentive to have the shaved ice….the pineapple shrimp was very average, with almost zero flavour. You add $2.5 for the meal combo which adds rice and a laughable amount of pickles and tofu. Popcorn chicken was OK. The shaved iceis a very good value. Its was $6.50 with lots of toppings enough for 3 people. Service was average.
New bubble world location with fancy decor. Overwhelmingly huge menu with Taiwanese snacks and entrees. Some of the entree items seem to be flavour of the month/gimmicky.My friend ordered the sweet and sour shrimp balls because it got his attention. He didn’t like it. I stuck with the curry beef brisket with rice. What I got was large chunks of untrimmed meat that seemed to be pre-cooked separately (no flavour) and a couple pieces of potato dropped into ultra watered down glico curry. Both of us were disgusted at the amounts we were charged. Ordered a taro milk tea and got a super sour calpis with taro instead. Lots of under trained staff at this new location standing around waiting for the next customer to enter.
The extensive menu here always makes it hard to decide. I chose not to order my usual Stir Fry Lamb and try something different. The Milky Hot Pot with Mountain Yam and lamb was great. Tasty broth and lots of vegetables. Yes the pumpkin was hard to start but I put it back in the broth and gave it time to cook. There were lots of little surprises; fish balls, tofu, enoki mushrooms,. My partner had the Stir Fried Noddles with Seafood. A couple of shrimp, a mussel, some squid and white fish and she enjoyed it. We tried the Red Fermented Pork which we also liked ( I feel like I always need to try something deep fried at a Taiwanese place). The drinks of course are fun. I tried the Grass Jelly drink and had great fun sucking the jelly into the straw and letting it slurp back out. It was sweet and almost coffee like and I would have it again. My partner had a slush which she always enjoys. I have been to a few different Bubble Worlds. This one is fairly new and roomy and the service was friendly and attentive. yeswereeatingagain.com
Deco – 4. It is a very new place. Very cold while we were eating at the table near the window. Service – The waitress always walks around to check on the customers. I think it’s a fairly new place so they are still pretty good with the service. Food – I ordered the Taro milky hot pot with lamb. Pumpkin and taro were still very hard in the soup. Wished the soup was cooked a bit longer. The rice was very hard. Tasted like left over rice. Price – $$I will definitely go back again.
Had take out Taiwanese fried pork, fried kingyo mushrooms and honey green milk tea with pearls. The pork was good, flavorfulMushrooms a bit blandDrink was good, the pearls were cooked just right
