in a word terrible. Tried a large beef when it first opened because I love wraps in general. its was super salty and the seasoned strangely. since its been a while I took my daughter there last week and it was equally terrible. the meat came from a container on the counter instead of being cut fresh from the vertical grill. the lady at the counter put french fries and cabbage in the wrap which was pretty weird. I decided not to get my own order. I did try hers and It was soggy because of all the sauce. I also watched her prepare a takeout platter for the customers before us and watched her drown the container in sauce (disgusting). I really hope they read this and improve because I love shawarma (the reason I gave it a second chance) but so far it sucks. if not maybe russian food would work out better as the lady at the counter is russian.(I also love russian food!!!)
Best donair I’ve had in a while. I ordered a chicken donair and it was fantastic! Definitely not the best donair/shawarma on the lower mainland but it’s MUCH better than any of the other places we have around Coquitlam (the one in Handerson & Sultan’s Donair especially). The restaurant uses lean chicken meat, while the latter two places throw in pieces of fat and skin in the meat. One downside is that it’s a little more expensive than the other two places ($10 vs ~$7-9).
Amazing food. I got my first shawarma today. I didnt know what to expect, I only heard that it is similar to a donair. It tastes AMAZING. The restaurant looks good and the service was fabulous.
Great place, food and service.. I decided to go check out this place just this past weekend and my first impression was that the place was clean and very friendly. I ordered the small beef shawarma wrap and was very impressed with the portion size for what you paid. The meat and veggies were fresh and well put together in the wrap and overall I was very satisfied. My friend ordered the falafel plate and shared one with me. To my satisfaction the falafels were very good and am looking forward to trying them again. I will eat here again and recommend this place to anyone looking for some great food for an excellent price.
Good but expensive. I work in one of the offices nearby and have been waiting for weeks for Shawarma Grill’s opening.Upon entering and seeing their menu+prices, I was already hesitant and wanted to walk out. Feeling embarrassed with entering and leaving, I decided to order their regular beef wrap/shawarma.It was tastier than the donair places around. It feels like they used more spices in their meat or sauce. The french fries in the wrap was an interesting add-on too. Although the taste was good, the serving size was smaller than other places, and it comes steep at $10.50 after taxes. Staff was friendly, and their place is very clean (although it is expected as they just opened)In addition, the cook/chef was cutting off the top of the donair pita bread. It looked like it was going to be thrown away. Sure, it might be a small piece, but you can add all those pieces cut off together, and that will amount to a lot of perfectly fine bread thrown away. Service-wise, I went in with two other co-workers. The first was served his wrap in 5 minutes, but took 10 minutes for the next person, and mine took 15 minutes to make. To Shawarma Grill: If you read this, I suggest you to think about changes. From my office, it doesn’t seem like you’re getting much traffic after opening week.
Already craving a second visit. Fresh and super satisfying – I just can’t stop thinking about the delish chicken wrap. I got to pick exactly what I wanted in it – for me: tasty crisp coleslaw, an awesome hummus, delectable dill sauce, and of course juicy chicken – i added skinny fries for fun on the advice of my God Daughter.. Can’t wait to try the falafel next! The staff are friendly, the place is bright and clean – kudos for the spotless restroom too. Super affordable as well. I’ll make a detour on my drive home from kits to Surrey at least once a week for this treat!
Disappointment, terrible. For a while my husband have been looking a great shawarma restaurant in the tri-city area. We had high hopes for this place and was greatly disappointed. My husband is Iranian descent so shawarma food is right up his alley. We tried the chicken shawarma platter and it is served with rice, chicken, bread and salad. This is where things go wrong..Rice: Literally uncle ben style with niblets, not basmati… no saffron flavour or dill choices etc.Bread: Is not freshly made, non-authentic.Chicken: Extremely dry and hard.Salad: Should consist of olive oil, lemon, cucumbers, tomatoes.. instead it was coleslaw style. For people who KNOW what Shawarma food should taste like, this is terrible. For people who don’t care for authentic taste, then you should try at your own risk.
