Not the greatest, not the worst sushi in Victoria. A solid 73% rating here.
Beware the Red Snapper!. Had dinner at Futaba last night and my fish was hot and cold all at once. Clearly they had not thawed it out properly and there were cool sections amidst the warm. Pretty disappointing.
Not so much…. I have been to Futaba in past and thought well enough of the place but, after tonight, I won’t go back. There was just too much mayo in/on everything, WAY too much batter on the Takoyaki, and overall not very good quality of sushi. There are so many great sushi restaurants in Victoria that I would rather spend my money at.
Dinner tonight. I’ve been going to this restaurant since it opened, up until the pasted year it has been good. Since then deliver has gone down hill. The past two times I’ve ordered it has shown up 2 hours later(the first time I was given a 30% discount) but i see it happening once but 2 times in a row is a joke. I always tip very well and never had a problem. The place has really good food but terrible service since the new owners bought it. So if you order from this place pick it up because by the time it gets there your food will be cold. I really used to like this place since this, I’ve been really disappointed.
I had a great time. I’ll try to make this short and sweet. The service was exceptional – tonight they didn’t have the wine we wanted so they gave us a more expensive bottle for the same price, The food came quickly and was absolutely delicious. We had lots of salmon and tuna which was fresh and well portioned, and everything else was excellent too. I would highly recommend the pork gyozas, the goma-ae and the futaba roll. I will be back very soon!
Regular Japanese Food. This is a place to have a quick Japanese meal. The quality is fair, so is the price. Always our go to place for casual Japanese food !
Used to be fresher tasting. Tempura was very oily and soggy with not much flavour. Two diners had to share dipping bowl. Slices of veg too large and unwieldySushi with brown rice very dried out. Inari too oily and rice within was too dry like made the day before and texture was too starchy.Hamachi sushi was almost freezer burned.
