found the food of inferior quality for take-out…..beef very dry and TOUGH, special fried rice bland without added anything, green beens old and withered, and alsogai lan old and woody.
the only place for Chinese food in town. .period. .we have been going here for over 20 years now and never had s bad meal. .the ginger beef is definitively one of the best dishes here. .
Best place for Asian in Victoria. I’m from Vancouver where there are multiple top notch places for great Asian cooking and sadly, the choice in Victoria isn’t great but JJ’s is phenomenal and the staff are ever so friendly!
My husband and I went here for dinner, as we’ve been searching for a new Chinese restaurant. It was pretty tasty, we had the wor wonton soup, the house special chow Mein, ginger fried beef, and sesame chicken. Everything was pretty tasty, however the chow mein was a bit crispy and undercooked. I liked that it came with lots of vegetables however there were more veggies than noodles. It was pretty expensive, all told. I wish they had combo dinners. We’ll be back for lack of quality Chinese food in Victoria.
Great service and authentic tasty food. The ladies working at J & J’s are absolutely wonderful and very helpful, kind, and funny. My family and I had the Szechuan shrimp noodle soup, BBQ duck noodle soup, and Szechuan beef with hot chili bean sauce. Each dish was simply delicious and served very quick. The Szechuan shrimp noodle broth was spicy with a little hint of sweetness and filled with vegetables. The BBQ duck noodle soup was very authentic and the broth was not heavy at all. Absolutely perfect. The Szechuan beef was also nice, had a little spice and lots of broccoli.
Had dinner last evening? It was excellent again. Great service, friendly staff. Love the open kitchen, very impressed to see all the chefs wearing traitional chef hats. Keep up the great cusine. Its not cheap to eat there but the dollar value is shining through the flavours of the cuisine.
Amazing food, Good atmosphere and friendly servers. Plus if you need it they have a wide selection of gluten free options that are quite good! The only mind downside (isn’t a big deal) is some of the servers look/dress very casually and often look like restaurant goers more than they look like restaurant servers.
