  One thing I can’t stand in a restaurant is inconsistent quality of entrees. My point… Went there last year and had an amazing steak. Went there this year and it was tough and not cooked as I asked ( I asked for medium and it was rare) The people at my table also had incorrectly cooked steaks. Without us even mentioning it, the server asked if anyone needed their steaks ‘fixed’ — so there was a known issue. Here’s the thing, Moxie’s. When we are purchasing the most expensive item on the menu, we prefer it not to be tough. We prefer it cooked properly the first time. ( Who want’s to wait any longer after waiting and then eat alone??) I prefer it to be as good as the one I had the year before and raved about. Now I don’t know what to expect when we eat there and as a result we will likely choose to eat elsewhere even though we generally enjoy the Moxie’s experience otherwise. As well, the veggie sides were some sort of under-cooked squash chunks. Here is another thing, I am not a chef. I am barely a cook. But I can cook a steak perfectly. I can even pick a steak that is not tough, at the store. As well I can cook squash to actually have a nice consistency and not be hard. I realize chef’s and line cooks are hard to pin down these days but c’mon… learn how to cook a steak correctly or get out of the kitchen! I will give a bonus point here for the very good Calamari appy. No comment on the 2 sip cocktails that are mostly ice though… scratch that, clearly that WAS a comment. Stick to beer or wine at this eatery. :/

  Made it to happy hour in the patio with 6 min to spare! The street fish tacos were delicious. The poke in a jar is a new appy item. I wasn’t sure what to expect. It was an interesting dish – not something I can always find to order. It did gave more avocado than tuna though.

  My go to local restaurant! I’ve simply never had a bad meal there. It’s not your typical franchise, the owner obviously takes pride in what they serve and who serves you. The wait staff are excellent! Sig is my favorite waiter. Wednesday nights are great with half off bottles of wine. I think one time they got my order incorrect and immediately the manager was at the table apologizing profusely and offered a salad while I waited so my guest and I would eat at the same time. It’s small things like this that keep me coming back. By the way, their burgers are in my opinion the best in the city!
