We were back for another stay in Harrison Hot Springs recently, and once again, did a Schnizel Night dinner at the Black Forest Restaurant. This has become a sort of tradition with us during weekday trips that include a Wednesday night in our stay. And this one was dedicated to Mom – daughters belated dinner treat.We walked into the restaurant about 5 pm, and were given a choice to sit outside in the covered patio area, or within the restaurant proper – we chose the latter. Service was immediate, cordial, and friendly – tumblers of water and food menus provided, and our beverage order taken. For the latter, Mom went with her usual ice water w/lemon, and daughter and I chose tall glasses of their light, German Krombacher pilsner (always a cool & refreshing treat, before and with the meal). For the food order, it was schnizels all around Schnizel Pacific (a Vienna Schnizel topped w/shrimp and bearnaise sauce) for Mom and plain Vienna Schnizels for daughter and I schnizels were prepared with a light batter, and pan-fried, and served with pan-fried potatoes, picked red cabbage (heated), and a selection of steamed veggies and served with a basket of freshly-baked, crusty bread.Food presentations were fine, and preparations the same schnizels large, flavourful, and tasty, and the veggies cooked el dente perfect, colourful, flavourful, and tasty. And Mom sure enjoyed that topping of shrimp & sauce on her schnizel – a sort of its your birthday touch!Friendly, cordial service, with good food – once again, we enjoyed another total dining experience at the Black Forest Restaurant. And a rather nice, belated birthday treat for Mom.
