Deep in the valley entrance to the majestic lake Harrison lies a little Asian gem of cuisine. Harrison Chinese restaurant was my next bounty of taste testing, and I can say with no hesitation that this is authentic Chinese. Came on a weekday and was promptly seated and serve with a friendly staff, after placing my order all came out fast and hot, I find a good sign of a Asian fair to be mostly by how much take out is dished out and though the restaurant is cozy the amount of food going out is quite a lot. So as for the food ordered was standards like s&s boneless pork, chow mien, prawns, Szechuan beef, rice, diced chicken vegetables and cashew, wonton soup, beef and broccoli, dry garlic, now I have only fault in dry garlic and wonton being that I have sampled better I found them to be adequate however as for the rest, I will say come and dine here as this I will rate as some of the best tasting I have had in a while. I shall return hungry and leave full once again. Definitely worth eating.
Chinese food in Harrison, and it’s good too!!. For us, even with so many previous stays in Harrison Hot Springs, this was a new-to-us dining experience during our recent (4-nights) stay. We were still a touch unsure what to expect when we chose to go there, but after settling in, meeting our server, placing our order, we were treated with very decently-prepared Chinese food, and what we thought was quite exceptional service. It’s a quite small place, with tables to accommodate four diners alongside the windows, and three larger, round tables, to the inside, to accommodate families or larger groups. It was a Thursday, and rather early (just after 5pm) when we got there to dine …. there were three tables of diners when we arrived, the restaurant was full before we left. We (three of us, two seniors) ordered separate dishes from the menu — here’s what we had: house special chop suey (crispy noodles, with a selection of veggies, a few prawns, and meats, and etc.), chicken with diced veggies and cashew nuts, beef and tomato, a bowl of steamed rice, and their Chinese tea. A good offering for the three of us, and very little of anything was left on the plates to go back to the kitchen. The prices were a touch on the high side (but not unexpected for Harrison we thought), but we found the food well-prepared and tasty, and the service from kitchen to table to be quite exceptional (and I must single out the young server — she must be commended for her most-accommodating manner .. and ‘wow’, can she do what she does!!).We enjoyed our dining experience there … and given a chance to do so, we’ll be back!!
