Great sushi, everything tasted fresh. I liked some of the recommendations from the wait staff. Everyone was pleasant and helpful. Service was prompt. Good size portions.It is EXPENSIVE compared to what I’m used to for Sushi but seems on par for a meal in Harrison.
WARNING DO NOT EAT HERE!!! Literally the worst Japanese Restaurant I have ever been to in my entire life. Service here was non-existent. We waited extremely long for a glass of water and was not offered any drinks at all upon seating. The prices here were outrageous for the amount of food given. The rice from the California roll ($7.00 ripoff) was completely dry and you could tell the sushi chef did not even know how to prepare proper sushi rice. The amount of imitation crab used in the California roll was laughable. I ordered a salmon nigiri and toro nigiri and boy did I regret it. The toro had a bitter taste and it was actually warm. I took a bite and did not finish it. When I told the server (old lady who seemed like the owner) she told me it was me that didn’t have good taste. Lol seriously how deluded are these people. I live in Vancouver and I literally enjoy good Japanese food every single day. The comment about how this place is a Venus fly trap for innocent tourists is absolutely 100% correct. If you want to be treated like crap and eat bitter raw fish at a place with absolutely no standards in how they prepare food then come to Kitami for the most disappointing experience of your life. I would not recommend this place even for my enemies.
Not impressed. My girlfriends and I were craving sushi and came across this restaurant. The menu did not have much of a selection but we decided to stay. The food was alright but ridiculously overpriced!!! Seaweed salad for $6, yam roll for $7, spicy salmon roll for $8?! And we were also charged for tea. Why is tea not complimentary?! Quite a disappointment.
NO COMPLIMENTARY TEA ?!. I’ve been to many sushi places and never have I had to pay for the tea because it was complimentary. On top of that the did not even mention that there is an additional charge for tea. That was just one of the many reasons why this place gets a thumbs down. First, they do not have chicken teriyaki roll on their menu – which is absurd to me because what sushi place does not have that roll ?! Secondly, their sushi is way overpriced, I paid 7 dollars for a YAM roll which is ridiculous and the sushi pieces were extremely tiny. My friend also paid 8 dollars for a spicy salmon roll which normally costs around 5-6 dollars. My total bill was 9$ for one tiny roll and one cup of tea…I would definitely not recommend this place to anyone.
Bad service, food is not worth the price. I believe BC is known for its above average Japanese food but this place disappoints. took almost 10 minutes to seat us when the restaurant was almist empty. food took over an hour to come out. the food was not fresh-tasting. very very disappointed.
Why so quiet?!. This place was quiet but we tried it, it was delicious! Vegan friendly, very nice hosts. Yum!
Excellent!. I love Japanese Cuisine! Kitami is an excellent restaurant serving very high quality food at very reasonable prices. The owners take great pride in what they do! Always a great visual and flavor experience.I always dine here when in the area. What a treat!
