Easily the best option in Hope, it’s not cheap but the food is very good quality and homemade, and the service is excellent. I recommend the salmon chowder.

Food was great, especially the apple pecan salad! Beer was served ice cold, and staff were friendly. Only downfall was that we waited FOREVER for our food to come.

I frequently travel from Metro Vancouver up the Fraser Canyon. One of my pleasures while driving this route is stopping at the 293 Wallace St. restaurant.Whenever I go in there, the staff treat me like I’m their most valuable customer. This is a nice feeling but when you watch the staff you’ll see that’s the way they treat every customer in this place.Last night I splurged a little bit and I started with their soup of the day. The oven roasted tomato with balsamic reduction in it was excellent. The little strip of ground pepper running across the center of the bowl was a clever addition. For my main course I chose the Johnston’s double cut pork chop. I decided to take a risk on ordering the Pork chop because every other meal I’ve had at 293 Wallace has been excellently prepared . Too often porkchops are very dry. Not at 293 Wallace. It was cooked to perfection and seasoned perfectly. The Porkchop was sitting on top of a bed of Rosemary flavored risotto. The seasonal vegetables on my plate were carrots, beets, and a couple pieces of broccoli. Again like the pork chops, the veggies were cooked perfectly. One thing I feel bad about is that they always have a fresh sheet for the bar service. But the fact that I’m driving up or down the canyon means I never get to sample the cool sounding cocktails that they have each day. 293 Wallace St. has become one of my favorite restaurants. I can always rely on 293 Wallace Street to give me an awesome food experience. Love this place. Highly recommended.

Surf and Turf. Amazing26 Jan, 2015As a starter, I had the tuna tataki. Exceptional. Surf & Turf for the entree. Perfectly cooked, perfectly seasoned. Stunned to find this quality of food in this sleepy little town. Plating was awesome as well. I wouldn’t hesitate for a second to stop here next time I’m driving past. A+

Lamb croquettes,(a starter). It was a ball of mashed potato with a miniscule amount of braised neck of lamb. The problem with the dish is that it was called a lamb croquette when it should have been called a mashed potato croquette due to the disproportionately small amount of lamb in this ten dollar starter .

Terrible food and the rudest staff i’ve ever seen. The Food hre was terrible ! When we complained the waitress Sad she could Knock 70 cents off out bill even though none of the Food was eaten . When we asked to speak to someone else the Cook came out from the back and belittled us and told us we were lying . You could not pay me to go back to This place !!!

Had lunch there today — worst salad I’ve ever had… ordered the hazelnut blue cheese salad — 2 hazelnuts, one half of a cherry tomatoe, and a tiny hint of blue cheese — $12!! oh well, the cider was good, and I like the bathrooms … will never go there again!
