Im editing my review from 5 to 1. For the past year that I have been dining here, every time I would come here for my usual beef shawarma, they would either run out or wouldnt have it. I used to come here for quality and great service, but I was proven otherwise this past weekend when they had full staff working behind the counter and they would run out of rice for their platters and meat for their shawarmas right after I was assured that they had it. I didnt get my orders right and the sass that came from the servers was unacceptable.I was really disappointed for I really loved this place and would usually come here all the time for my shawarma fix.

This place has absolutely the WORSE shawarma I have ever tasted. Ordered beef and each piece of the beef pieces are inedible because they’re either some cartilage or hard tendons. The entire restaurant has some weird funk smell, like it urinal balls. It just smells gross. Should have followed gut instinct and left but I was in a hurry – albeit it took a long time for them to make the ordered. The staff working there also not very friendly, not stoic but they are genuinely unhappy serving customers and making the food. A definite place to avoid.

First time trying it out here at 7:45pm on a Tuesday night. Before we could order, the server said they only have lamb left. We tried ordering a platter and found out they also don’t have any rice left. They’re supposed to be open until 10pm by the way. The kicker? They were making fresh skewers for a middle eastern customer. I am Filipino so I took that as a racist thing. We ended up ordering the wrap anyway. The server then took meat that has been pre-cut underneath the rotating lamb. It looked extremely dry. He used up all the dry meat into our wraps. I didn’t complain about anything until I tried it and of course, the meat tasted dry. I went back up to ask if that’s normal and they insisted that that’s what lamb is like. He offered to make me a new wrap but I just asked for some fresh slices of lamb to see if it would taste better. I’ve tried donairs from many places in the lower mainland and this was by far the stingiest with meat. May as well drive down to Cambie and No. 5 to Daddy’s Delight for a PROPER meal. This was actually my 2nd choice because Daddy’s was closed for the night. NEVER coming back.

Great lamb. Great salad. This place is a perfect spot to pick up a lunch and get back to work quickly. The staff were friendly and were happy to customize my order.

Had lunch here with my wife. We ordered the mixed platter and the lamb donair platter. The serving size was generous and the food was fresh. Would definitely come back!

As a shawarma connoisseur, I was disappointed by Shawarma Palace. Ordered a beef platter, with meat being dry and chewy and less quantity of meat compared to other shawarma places. However, it came with potatoes which is new for a shawarma platter but no pita bread, a standard accompaniment at all shawarma places across Vancouver. They also seem to be cutting costs by watering down Tzatiki and Hot Sauce, which appeared to have almost water like consistency. It is also pricier in comparison to other donair shops. For the best shawarma experience, you should try Casa Shawarma on Kingsway or Donair Dude in downtown. Not coming back here again.
