  Charming. We chose this restaurant because it was close to our hotel within walking distance. We were greeted promptly and seated by the window. Recommendations were made and we chose the specials. My husband and son both had the steak and lobster special and I had the maple glazed salmon. Shortly after receiving our beverages, our meals arrived piping hot. It pays to be there early. The sound of the crackling fire made us feel cozy on a cool night. Later we shared apple crumble with ice cream and caramel sauce and had one more drink. Our waiter was very attentive.

  Horrible experience at The Habour House. Visiting from Vancouver. I went to this restaurant to celebrate two birthdays. It started off great, until the food came. I ordered the New York Steak and took a very small bite and found myself choking on it. It was very scary because I couldn’t breath. I didn’t dare have another piece in case it happened again.The waitress did bring me water, however the staff stood in the door way talking about what had happened to me. For a fine dining restaurant I didn’t expect this. Very unprofessional.When I told the waitress that the steak was too dry even though it was medium rare she said they have never had a complaint. I found this response to be not necessary, since what I had experienced was different. I have gone to many fine dining restaurants all over the world and I have never had this experience. I had to leave the restaurant before my party was finished because of the stares and talking about me. When I went to leave I walked by the hostess and she didn’t even say goodbye or thank you.

  Not that good. Table looked nice until I noticed ants walking around the table cloth. Pointed it out to the host but she was not interested, she should have offered another table. Food took 50 minutes. Glass of wine was less than half full and red wine was chilled rather than chambre. My partner’s steak was terrible. Waiter kept reaching over to refill water instead of from behind or excusing himself. The steaks for the other couple with us were mixed up and instead of taking the plates away to correct the waiter simply grabbed the wrong steak with a fork and carried it away just hanging from it. Very unprofessional. We were presented with the bill before we asked for it. The presentation of the food was casual not conmensurate with the price. Not a place I will go back.

  Enjoyed our dinner there tonight. We had a party of seven. The service was excellent: friendly waiters, knowledgable, nice banter, water refilled, plates cleared quickly. The lobster bisque was good albeit pricey $8? All of the entrees were well received and they had no issues splitting an entree for my two younger children. Dessert was especially good. Wine list is a little short. Would go again.

  Good food – expensive. We went in for dinner, but wound up just getting some appies because of the extreme high prices. The food we got (shrimp scampi and Greek salad) were very good. The whole grain rolls that came with it were exceptional. Sister and her hubbby had escargot, mussels and scampi. They liked it all.

  A nice night out. This restaurant is probably one of the best in town from service to food quality. The steaks are always perfect and cooked to your liking and I was really impressed last night as the lobster tail was really cooked to perfection. The deserts of caramel creme brulee and chocolate mousse were exceptional. I just want to ad that since my wife and I do not drink sometimes one tends to get ignored at some restaurants but not here. Attentive would be the word, all night.
