Happy hour was on, and were a great deal and we had the Fat Buoy Burger, mussels and calamari, all of which were great.Calamari portion could have been a bit more generous.The Pulled Pork poutine was also made to perfection, except that personally am Not a Poutine fan, as too many french fries for me.Mike our server was beyond effiecient, and was a pleasure to be served by himFor dessert we had the Strawberry shortcake which sadly didnt live upto our expectations as there seemed to bread instead of cake as the base.Should have tried the bread pudding!!We happened to be staying in the area and therefore reached the restaurant, but feel would be worth the trudge even if I wasnt!We went back the next day and had the lamb shank, of which I have to say have had better though was also decent.Salads could be definitely avoided. Had to ask for extra grapes to add taste.Mussels were absolutely great!
I went to Heron Rock for Sunday breakfast. The vibe was awesome. Lots of folks but no problem getting a table fast and our server was quick and we got our food fairly fast for how busy it was. Portions were huge. Flavour was off though. My Heuvos Cabaneros was acidic tasting and the guacamole appeared to be canned. The potatoes were under cooked. My friend had the poutine and it was ok too. Not bad. Just ok. Otherwise the place has huge potential.
