The space itself is beautiful. The service is prompt. And the food is delicious with all the unique flavor combinations working so well together. Would definitely go back.
Make a reservation for inside, or enjoy the beautiful garden (an oasis in James Bay). Ambience is warm and quaint. Service is great. Food is authentic Italian and quite good, the pasta made in-house. I especially enjoyed the mushroom tortellini. Other people at our table commented the dark Chianti wine sauce on the lamb shank was quite salty as was the cioppino (they seem heavy handed on the seasoning in the kitchen). The family-style four course meal is a good table experience. The panna cotta is one of the best I’ve tasted. A nice place for a special occasion.
Service was fine. Not that timely or attentive, but polite and kind when there.Food was overall pretty good. The bolognese sauce was a bit salty. A bit pricey, but fine. Ambience and atmosphere was great.
The service is attentive, natural and it is perhaps the strength of Il Covo. I tend to have the amazing ravioli or lasagna. The food is influenced by Genoa, authentic and distinctive. I have guests that regularly visit from San Francisco and they are keen admirers of the food and service. If you want an intelligent choice go to Il Covo. Itolo the owner will not disappoint!
Had a wonderful meal. Service was excellent. Great ambiance. Will go back. The desserts were amazing. Everything was top notch. The salmon was beautifully cooked as was the pasta. The calamari was to die for…
While trying to figure out if we could be accommodated later that evening, the hostess interrupted our conversation and answered the phone and began taking a reservation for people that evening! Ridiculous, clearly people who actually standing in the restaurant don’t take priority over a ringing phone.
To the chef of Il covo: You made the worst did I have ever tasted in my life. We waited over an hour for our food, and the food that came out was just junk that was to salty that tasted like msg. My father’s lasagna was frozen in the center. This is not a high end restaurant, is not even a restaurant.
