Really disappointed by our meal last night! As it was Friday night we phoned in our takeout order at 5:15 expecting they’d be busy and were pleasantly surprised when they said it would be ready in 15-20 minutes. This was great as the food was for a birthday gathering for one of our granddaughters at our son’s place. We arrived twenty minutes later and my wife paid the bill of $130 and was told the food would be ready shortly. More than thirty minutes later we finally received our food. I complained, as it put our whole schedule off and was offered a less than heartfelt apology. To top it off, half the food was cold, the broccoli and oyster mushroom dish was pathetic (broccoli almost raw and the very few mushrooms in the dish were not Oyster mushrooms) and the ginger beef was mostly batter. This restaurant changed hands a while ago and the overall score it receives reflects service and food quality that is sadly lacking under the new management. BTW prices have increased 10 – 12 % at least from the menu posted here. We used to go here quite a lot in the past but will definitely give it a pass from now on!
Mediocre fish & chips. Batter was too thick (made me think of bad chicken balls) and tasteless. Take the batter off and the fish was pretty good, but the chips were tough, rather than crisp.
Pretty good!. We needed to pluck up our courage to try out this restaurant because of some of the previous reviews. We ordered just a fish and chips to take out and were told it would take 20 munites. Surprisingly, it was ready on time. The fish and chips was pretty good: the cod was juicy and decent size for the price, the fries were made out of real potatoes – not frozen, and the coleslaw was so good. If the tartar was house made, I would give an extra point. Overall, it satisfied us. We’ll try their Chinese food next time.
Terriable service. I can not say anyting bad with the food, because I even don’t have a chance to try. I called at 8pm, and asked for delivery. They asked me to repeat my address several times and then refused my order. They said my address is too far away from their restaurant. If 10 min drive is too far, then why you advertising that you can do delivery !!!
Delicious good food. A small restaurant with great food at a decent price. Service is quick and efficient. We had the fish. The food is delicious! However the Chinese food ordered by folks sitting near us looked and smelt inviting. We will try those menu items on our next visit.
Kept hearing about the really good Fish n Chips here and so I finally tried the cod (with a caeser salad instead of chips) and the cod was really good. I even ate the batter. That’s usually the fail for me and deep fried fish but theirs was just fine!
Very good chinese food, very long wait.. The food is good with lots of quality ingredients and this is one of my favorite places to order out Chinese food.. they really need to work on the wait as 2 hours is unreasonable, and this is even for pick up, not delivery.
