Absolutely terrible food, the kitchen microwaves everything from pot pies to scones. The cooks should be ashamed to serve what they do and would perhaps be more in their element at a Macdonalds. Horrendous experience.

They Don’t Have A Clue Here. Driving by recently I noticed that the interior of the James Bay Tea Room had been altered and my sister and I decided to go in and see if ownership had changed and perhaps things had improved. The first thing that struck me was how stark and antiseptic the place looked. The walls are painted grey, there are white tablecloths with no cutlery in place, it reminded me of a hospital. I did not feel at all cozy or comfortable. I ordered an omelet, it was very greasy, overcooked and I don’t know what kind of oil they were using but it had a peculiar, almost sweet flavour that definitely did not work for me. My potatoes were undercooked. My sister was also unimpressed and thought the quality of the coffee was ok, but less than she had experienced there in the past. The experiment with trying the new James Bay Tearoom complete, we left with a heartfelt resolve never to return.

Kitchen Nightmare. We were on vacation and my husband and I went for breakfast . I ordered a dry toast with butter on a side, a pancake and tea, my husband ordered two medium poached eggs, toast, hash-browns and bacon. The order took wayyyyyyy too long to come, and when it did I’ve got a toast full of butter and a pancake, and my husband had two hard eggs with an awful hashbrowns. We asked to change and it took for ever.. when it came again the eggs were not properly cooked, the hashbrowns were dreadful, my pancake undercooked, the tea was nothing special (nothing to do with the excellency of Murchies). I wouldn’t recommend this place, you waste time and money

Stay calm and write a review. One big dissapointment. Having been told we must wait, we should have left. Quiche was very cold. Tepid best describes it. Everything else was cold and tasted like it had been prepared weeks in advance. will not go back

Katherina. What a nice change for this place. It looks so bright and clean and the menu is easy to read. The new owner is so dedicated to this place. You can feel love and passion. We enjoyed very much our lunch. We definitely recommend this place.

Very good restaurant. We visited Victoria in early October for 3 days and ate twice at this restaurant. First time was for breakfast and we enjoyed the food and service so much, we went back for lunch which was just as good. Prices are very reasonable. We wish them success with their new menu and renovations. We will definitely go back to this restaurant in the future.
