Ordered the seafood tower..very disappointed. I eat a lot of seafood and I found most of the seafood in this dish was tasteless, typical of product precooked from the supplier and not at the restaurant..if that’s not the case, then someone needs a lesson in cooking seafood.The Tuna dish included in the tower appeared to be fresh and was the only saving grace for this dish. I’d recommend giving it a miss.We also ordered the Firecracker prawns and the seafood chowder. These were both lovely and highly recommended. The only fault I had was that the so want served with bread, this was a chargeable extra.Drinks/cocktails were packed with ice so I’d recommend asking for minimal ice.
I love sitting out on the patio here! It’s a great location and their food is too. Their calamari is the best I’ve ever had! I love the jalapeos and lemons they fry up with the calamari. It just gives it that little extra to make it super awesome.
Great Location. Very slow service! Walked in at 6:30 still waiting for the check at 9:30. 90mins to get cold average food. Definetly a not recommended
Should have read the reviews prior to going but was so hungry. The place I went to before Steamship had gotten my order wrong and didn’t have more food to fix the mistake so I went somewhere close. The staff was friendly. While the chowder was flavorful and actually had seafood in it the portion was dismal. It was 3/4 broth and 1/4 actual seafood. Had I a had a baguette I probably would still had soup leftover.
Ordered the seafood chowder, bowl and cup had same volume of chowder but considerable different price. Complained and received credit but still feel they should provide portions based on charge. They claimed there was a 3 ounce difference but there was not. Fill the bowl next time.
While the location is FABULOUS, the interior gracious, the staff pleasant, and the menu enticing, the temperature was FREEZING! We came for a meal between lunch and dinner in January. While the oysters were perfect, we could not enjoy them because we were soooo cold. Please, please, PLEASE add a little heat in the winter so patrons do not get frostbite!!!
Good, not great. We were seated quickly and our server was very pleasant. Food came out in good time and they had no issues with a few special requests we had. Just found the food to be ‘good’, but was not blown away by any part of the meal. We had calamari, fish and chips, blacken snapper, crab cakes and ship. No one complained, but just wasn’t in awe over any of the flavors. For the price it seemed a bit steep, but I know they have a great outdoor space that we (by choice because of the cool whether) did not get to enjoy. Go for the view and understand there is a premium for it not necessarily attached to the food.
