Best BBQ house in town, in my opinion! Highly recommend to all [if you’re not a boring and lame Vegan, of course]. Probably the best pulled pork I’ve ever tasted, along with delicious ribs and the fried chicken is up there, with my ultimate favorite ..LA Chicken in Richmond. Pass on the biscuits, and get all cornbread! Oh ..and don’t forget to order extra of their homemade gravy – it goes well with everything 🙂
Arrived on a Friday night. It was busy but we were seated quickly. Servers are friendly and service was quick. The portions are huge (we had the buttermilk fried chicken and pulled pork with 2 sides, corn bred and beans). The chicken was delicious, thick with buttermilk crispy coating and the chicken was. boneless. Pulled pork was flavourful without BBQ sauce hiding the taste. So good with the country gravy too. I would recommend Dixie’s. Their special of the day was a sandwich and a beer for $15. That is a great deal.
Shared the chicken and waffles and the brisket Benny. The meat was very dry and didn’t have the smoke I was expecting. Chicken was great but the waffles were too sweet from the syrup. Food portions are huge so you won’t leave hungry. I was hoping to be able to order BBQ during brunch but the menu was strictly brunch.
Easily the best BBQ I’ve had in Vancouver. In fact, it is on the same level as highly regarded restaurants I’ve visited in Texas and New Orleans. I can’t give a higher compliment than that. As for BBQ restaurants in Seattle and Calgary that I’ve tried, Dixie’s is on another planet. There is love and attention to detail in this food. For example, they use three kinds of wood in the smoker. We tried the brisket, ribs, and a regular link. All perfect as were the coleslaw, potato salad and pickle sides. Pecan pie with maple whipped cream was excellent. The staff were very friendly, attentive and enthusiastic about the BBQ wonders on offer. Portions and prices are very fair. Look forward to returning. Highly recommended!
Came here today for first time. The BBQ was beyond good and probably the best I’ve had in Vancouver ! The sides are really good for three bucks Each. The sweet tea is homemade and so yummy will be back for sure ! A+
