Me and my family went to this sushi restaurant and my experiences were very horrible. So when we went, we were deciding on which meal to get. When decisions were made, the waitress’s took very long to respond to our order. After then while waiting, they served a shrimp soup. That soup was really soft and tasted very old. The appetizers came last and the sushi tasted poor. When we ordered 1 Chicken Yaki Tori and Spicy pork, they served us 1 Yaki Tori and meanwhile we wait they give us a second Yaki Tori 30 minutes after we get everything else. The Yaki Tori is so disgusting, it tasted old. The Dinner Box tasted very bad, the rice in the sushi tasted stiff. Slow response, poor quality food.
If I’m ever having a craving for sushi, this is my #1 go-to place! The staff are always very welcoming and friendly, and unlike other sushi restaurants, I find their sit-in booths a novelty. They have an intensive menu including some Korean dishes also. Their sashimi tastes the most fresh among the other Japanese restaurants that I’ve gone to in Surrey. For those who aren’t much fans of raw fish, I recommend trying the Texas BBQ roll! It’s basically a california roll with juicy cuts of barbequed short rib on top. Also, if you love to order chicken karaage, I suggest getting the chicken skin with the sauce on the side! Just like the name, it is 2 skewers of uber crispy chicken skin yet it has a juicy interior. The dish pictured is their chirashi don, that my man had told me to get since I was planning to get our usual assorted sashimi platter. It comes with an assortment of thick cut sashimi that varies from day to day, sauteed mushrooms and onions on a bed of sushi rice and miso soup on the side!
The food is just okay – kind of overpriced for what it is compared to other sushi restaurants in Surrey. But their dragon roll is great: big, meaty pieces of unagi. Great service.
Akasaka offers a great selection of specialty rolls. My go-to sushi place. Their oyster motoyaki is the best I’ve had around town. However, not sure if my sushi standard has heightened or the quality of their food changed. Few years back, I found it much more satisfying, still good regardless. Staff is experienced and friendly too.
The place has delicious sushi, the servers are super friendly and helpful, all around great place on that front. Sadly, on my last visit here, we discovered that they serve live lobster here. According to our server, the animal arrives at your table, still alive, but with its shell broken open, leaving it to die slowly while you eat it. Cruel and inhumane, we will not be eating here again.
Food is okay but could be improved. It’s kind of expensive for such average quality food so it’s not the best place to go for japanese food.
It is just okay. I like the salmon sashimi and baby oyster there but the takoyaki and stuffs aren’t what I expected. The restaurant environment is fine
