WARNING! DO NOT GO THERE YOU WILL REGRET IT IN ALL ASPECTS. POOR SERVICE, POOR FOOD QUALITY, POOR CLEANLINESS, POOR ATTENTION IN FOOD PREP, TOO MANY MISTAKES, YOU DON’T GET WHAT YOU ORDER ON THE MENU THEY CHANGE ITEMS WITHOUT NOTIFYING CUSTOMERS. FALSE ADVERTISING, DIRTY PLACE, EMBARRASS CUSTOMERS AND GET LOUD AND DEFENSIVE IF YOU MENTION WHAT YOU ORDERED ON THE MENU IS DIFFERENT THAN WHAT YOU GET. THEY JUST SAY TODAY YOU GET SOMETHING DIFFERENT. VERY BAD ATTITUDE TOWARDS CUSTOMERS. ONE OF THE WORST PLACES I HAVE BEEN TOO. YOU WOULD PROBABLY GET FOOD POISONING FROM BAD FISH THERE BECAUSE OF THEIR LACK OF CAREFULNESS AND CLEANLINESS. YOU BEEN WARNED! GO AHEAD AND TRY IT AND PROVE ME WRONG. NEXT DOOR RESTAURANT HAS PEOPLE LINED UP TO EAT. MAGURO HAS NO CUSTOMERS INSIDE USUALLY. THEY JUST DON’T CARE THEY THINK THEY CAN DO GOOD BUSINESS BY GIVING SO CALLED BIG PORTIONS AS SEN IN OTHER REVIEWS OR SOMETHING BUT THEY WERE NOT BIG ON MY PLATE. I GET MORE FOR MY MONEY AT ANOTHER PLACE in SURREY near KING GEORGE AND 104th WITH ALL YOU CAN EAT SUSHI AND JAPANESE FOOD FOR $12.95 at lunch time and a bit more at supper time. SUPER FRESH AND SUPER HIGH QUALITY FOOD & SUPER HIGH QUALITY SERVICE, SUPER GOOD ATTITUDES, SUPER CLEAN, PROFESSIONAL GUARANTEED TO BE DISCRETE IF YOU HAVE A PROBLEM, NOT LOUD AND IGNORANT LIKE MAGURO. I SEE SOME PEOPLE RAVING ABOUT THEIR BIG PORTIONS BUT I HAD BIGGER PORTIONS AT THE SUSHI PLACE AT 103 and 152nd and MUCH BETTER SERVICE ETC. ANYWAYS BIGGER PORTIONS THAT ARE CONTAMINATED WILL HAVE MORE CONTAMINATION TO GET YOU SICK. ANYWAYS THEY ARE JUST JERKS AND SHOULDN’T BE IN BUSINESS. I DON’T KNOW IF THEIR STAFF ARE EVEN LEGAL THEY CAN’T REALLY SPEAK ENGLISH. THEY DON’T SERVICE YOUR TABLE VERY WELL IF YOU LIKE TO HAVE SERVICE THIS IS NOT THE PLACE FOR YOU. BAD BAD BAD. I AM ASHAMED TO HAVE A DUMP LIKE THIS IN MY NEIGHBORHOOD. ASHAMED TO BE CANADIAN RIGHT NOW MAY AS WELL BE IN A THIRD WORLD COUNTRY WITH DUMPS LIKE THIS AROUND HERE. WONDER WHY THEY DON’T HAVE VERY MANY CUSTOMERS WHEN I GO BY THERE BUT ALL THE OTHER RESTAURANTS ARE SO BUSY. WELL I GUESS OBVIOUSLY PEOPLE DON’T LIKE THIRD WORLD DUMP RESTAURANTS. LOOK PEOPLE WE ARE DEALING WITH FOOD HERE AND FISH ESPECIALLY RAW FISH IS VERY SENSITIVE TO BACTERIA ETC. YOU CAN’T TRUST YOU ARE GETTING SAFE FOOD TO INGEST AT A DUMP LIKE THIS. WOW I CAN’T BELIEVE I SAID ALL THIS. I REALLY WANT THEM TO MOVE OUT OF THIS NEIGHBOR HOOD AFTER EXPERIENCING THIS MAJOR DUMP. DON’T SUPPORT PLACES LIKE THIS PEOPLE. THEY ARE SO NASTY THEY LEFT A HUGE MESS FOR THE LANDLORD THEY HAD BEFORE ACROSS THE ROAD. I DON’T KNOW THE SITUATION BUT ALL THEIR SIGNS AND JUNK ARE STILL ON THEIR OLD LOCATION. BESIDE TD. ANYWAYS YOU BEEN WARNED HOPE YOU MAKE THE RIGHT CHOICE. IF YOU WANT LARGE PORTIONS GO TO THE ALL YOU CAN EAT FOR LESS THE PRICE. THANKS FOR LISTENING BUT THEY SHOULDN’T TREAT CUSTOMERS LIKE THAT NEVER MIND PROVIDE A PRODUCT AND SERVICE THAT YOU WOULD FIND IN THE SLUMS OF SOME THIRD WORLD COUNTRY.
UNDER NEW OWNERSHIP. Was recommended to come here but, the owner changed. Quality was not that great. Tiny tempura pieces and 75% of everything is just rice instead of all the other yummy yumms. Eg. Dynamyte roll had less filling than typical california rolls elsewhere. Probably wont go back.
Staff needs to improve on customer service. Been to the restaurant a few times and will not be going again. First time I went, the server seemed angry about something and clearly displayed it in her customer service. (slamming the sliding doors, chucking our food in front of us and looked angry) I did not think much of it and thought she was just having a bad day. (So I tipped her well) Second time, again the server was disrespectful and treated us like we were garbage and the staff making the food were also unprofessional and needed training in customer service, especially when they are in the view of customers. They were seen glaring at people eating and looked angry for some odd reason. Finally, my last visit there, again the servers provided terrible customer service. The server had gotten the order wrong and would not take responsibility for it. The staff was again unprofessional in view of the customers and need assistance in how to provide customer service. I worked in the industry for a few years and understand how difficult it can be, there are days that you feel like crap but as a representative of your restaurant you still have to provide customer service. I can handle a lot of mistakes or mishaps but this restaurant and their customer service took it too far.
Love the food but,,,,,,,. Myself and my daughter frequent the establishment two plus times a week. Order quite often take out. and always the same items. Have been told on numerous times that the kitchen cannot offer a side of teriyaki sauce even though I have suggested we will pay extrra…..you think!!!! Always asking for a tip when picking out take out. Will still patronize the establishment because we enjoy their food but what happened to customer service????
Tirashi Bowl. Tobiko too21 Dec, 2014Tirashi Bowl. A bed of warm sushi rice topped with seaweed sprinkles, side of delicious crunchy seaweed salad, fresh wasabi. Awesome seafood selection: wild salmon, tuna three ways, tamago, surf clam, prawn, herring, squid, octopus, yellow tail, and I’m sure I have forgotten a couple. All for less than $15. In town this would be over double the price if it even existed.21 Dec, 2014Best Japanese restaurant in BC. My dad is a sushi chef, my mom a better Japanese cook than him, and Maguroguy still manages to impress me! Taste, portion, and prices at unbeatable! Worth the drive even from Vancouver. If you are into fresh fish, try their tirashi bowl. The hot dishes are equally superb! Spicy is your cup is tea? Try the spicy fried noodles with seafood. Oh, the staff is super nice too. All the culinary stars align at this place!
Poor Customer Service. I will never go back again. I have been going to this restaurant with my family for about 3 years because we love the food, but the customer service on our last visit was extremely disappointing. We sat down at 3:30 p.m. and ordered three lunch boxes. At about 4:10 we finished our food and called the server to order a lunch box to go. She refused to sell it to us because it was 4:10 p.m. and lunch boxes are not served after 4 p.m. Please take into account that we have been their customers for over three years…such poor customer service.
Yum. I always find the service to be very pleasant and if you’ve been there a couple of times, the staff really goes out of their ways to learn your name and preferences. The price is decent and food is good. I love their seafood udon!! it not made a typical bowl but a pot!!!
