Upon entering the establishment everything seemed really great. We were greeted with an enthusiastic smile and told to sit anywhere. The establishment was clean and comfortable but the music was a bit loud. After seating ourselves service was quick the hostesss manor didnt seem quite as friendly. Her words were short and her smile was gone. This didnt prevent her from keeping our tea filled and fresh however. Our meals came quickly but with flaws. The rice was boiled not fried with the egg for the chicken fried rice and the chicken was refrigerator cold. It seems that the components were refrigerated and then assembled separately and reheated. (I dont go out to pay for leftovers). The chicken chow mien was flavourless and the Ginger Beef was burnt. My wifes meal was equally flavourless. Im afraid we will not be returning.
I used to think this was a descent place to eat as they specialized in Chinese BBQ meat but the service has gone down hill. First off, the owner is quite rude. She has this attitude and looks down at her customer. My last ride with them was when I went to their restaurant to order an item on the menu and she flatly denied my order simply stating her restaurant is too busy! Then she went on to make you feel as though it’s my job to know she is busy! Bad service. I don’t recommend this place.
Love their roast pork especially the Pinoy Lechon. The Cantonese Chow Mein is decent but the crispy noodles are a bit too hard and dry, as is the Yang Chow Fried Rice. EDIT:Quality has dropped somewhat in recent times. Their roast pork is still great but sometimes the skin isn’t as crispy and other times there seems to be more fat than meat. The spicy fried squid or assorted seafood was a longtime favourite but they tend to come with a lot of clumps of fried batter. On my most recent visit it wasn’t as crunchy or spicy as it used to be, but on the plus side it wasn’t as greasy.
We ordered 6 items for takeout dinner. The timing was perfect and the customer service was very warm and friendly. The packaging was done with care so that the dishes were in good shape after transport. The dishes were good except for the little shrimp lost in a lot of breading. The menu has plenty of choices for meat eaters, pescatarians and vegetarians.
I was pleasantly surprised by how delicious the food was…. And in the Guildford area! If you are craving some juicy Chinese styled BBQ meats, this is a must try. They also have nicely sized made to order shrimp wontons.
WORST EXPERIENCE EVER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!. I’ve been there for over a year since the exchange of the new owner, the lady boss has been nothing but rude and arrogant. She has decided to charge extra for an order today for $1 and yes only a $1 but it’s still a $1 that they have never charge before so when I questioned her. She said you can order or not, it’s up to you. When, I tried to explain to her why the sudden change she cut me off and said it’s ok, order cancel and said good bye. Well, good bye indeed. For unethical practice, not worth my money, not even for a penny.
Best BBQ in town!. Been here a few times with my family – the BBQs always fresh. (My dad can tell cause he used to live near Chinatown!). My family also regularly order delivery from this restaurant, via justeat.com. My favourite is the Cantonese Chow Mein & Black Bean Chicken. :)-edit-Justeat.com seemed to work in the past, but it doesn’t work properly anymore. My order keeps on getting canceled. Fyi, I just order through the restaurant now.
