This restaurant has apparently replaced Bubble Waffle Cafe in Kerrisdale. I’ve never been to the old joint before, so I don’t know how much their menu has changed. Currently however, they have a pretty good selection of HK style food, including noodles, soups, rice and snacks. I’ve tried their Deep Fried Chicken Nuggets w/Rice and their Rice Pot w/ Pork Belly & Salted Duck Egg, and found their food to be pretty decent. The prices are reasonable, and the service is quite efficient with friendly staff members. Overall, this is a pretty good place for some casual HK food.Deep Fried Chicken Nuggets w/ Rice ($12.00):3.5/5The set came with chicken nuggets, rice, and some bok choy. On the menu it states that the dish is supposed to come with soup, but it appears that they have forgotten to bring mine as I didn’t receive any. I didn’t mind though since I don’t really care that much for soup anyways. There was a decent amount of chicken nuggets, which had a nice, light and crispy batter. It was not particularly meaty however, with the pieces being more batter than meat. It was also quite salty; when eaten together with the rice, it was quite good, but it would probably be a bit too salty if eaten alone as a snack.Rice Pot w/ Pork Belly & Salted Duck Egg ($11.75):4/5On this occasion I did actually receive my soup, which consisted of a pork bone broth with two large pieces of daikon. It tasted fine, but I don’t feel like I’ve missed out much when I didn’t receive it during the last time. The rice pot was topped with thin slices of steamed pork belly and half a salted duck egg. The pork belly was a tad tough and chewy, but still quite tasty; I could have done with a bit more meat though. The duck egg was very salty (as it is supposed to be), with a lovely, oily yolk. The rice on the edges were nicely toasted, and had a wonderful crispy texture, and tasted fantastic when mixed in with some of their sweet soy sauce that they have on their table.

Location used to be Bubble Waffle Cafe and this is similar to bubble waffle cafe in that they have noodle soup and bubble waffle, but no bubble tea.Food prices are all reasonable. With almost all the orders from the menu, you can add $2 to get a bubble waffle (original flavour). We also each got a Hong Kong style milk tea, which was on point ($1 for cold). We got the fried chicken knuckles (delicious) and flat rice noodle with beef (satisfying). Generous portions (please see pictures). Added a delicious and freshly made bubble waffle for $2.If you’re looking for some HK food or snacks, this is the place! Comfortable and spacious seatings available both outdoors and indoors. HK milk tea and bubble waffle is just the perfect combo. secondspls.blogspot.com

Yummy home made soup . No MSG . Crispy waffles, still crispy after the whole dinner . Crispy rice from claypot, that means rice is cooked from claypot not transfer from rice cooker. Clean, comfortable and warm place to have dinner with friends and families.
