We decided to come here because of the good reviews. Got there before 5pm, and one of the first ones to get in. We waited and waited for someone to take our order. The other waitresses were already taking orders of people who came 10-15 minutes after us. It took them 20 minutes to get our orders! The couple who came with us already had gotten their order, finished eating, paid, and left before we even got our first dish. Another couple who came 10 minutes after we were seated had already gotten their orders and finished eating as well. The sushi rolls were good though and the prices were reasonable, but the sushi rolls kept falling apart. Overall experience was not pleasant. I recommend trying out another sushi place, unless you don’t mind the looooong wait for mediocre sushi.

The staff are all very professional and welcoming. The sushi is always fresh and never disappoints. The wait can be very long at times since the restaurant itself is quite small. One of my favorite sushi places of all time!

Some of the best sushi I’ve ever had. Fresh, decent price, reliable quality and service. I’ve gotten into the habit of getting the sushi bento for lunch – best under $10 lunch deal in town. Love the a la carte sushi, too. They have some items that are not as common on menus, like the umeshiso roll/cone, which is a fave vegetarian item of mine. Any fish I’ve ever had here is also excellent. This place has never disappointed.

Ona of the best sushi places The only problem is its too small and they dont take reservations so I order take out but its worth the wait. Also their menu online needs some improvement its too small to read and not complete compared to the one at the restaurant.

Hands down my favorite sushi place in Vancouver. The fish is always so fresh! We love going and choosing a bunch of different nigiri to try, they also change up their fresh sheet often. I love the toro and tobiko with quail egg nigiri. Blue fin and bonito nigiri is amazing as well, when they have it. Love their saba pressed sushi too!

One of the most overrated sushi restaurants in Vancouver. Food took an insanely long time to come out and we were very disappointed with the quality. The rice in the sushi rolls were extremely mushy and tasted awful. The spicy tuna roll was not spicy at all and very bland and difficult to swallow. The california roll was one of the worst I’ve tasted in recent times and very dry. I had high hopes for the Saba Battera but that was just as disappointing as it had the thinnest layer of mackerel imaginable and had more ginger than fish. I also don’t see the appeal of their house salad as the sauce is very weak and there’s nothing special in it. Putting some cereal in salad doesn’t make it great. Miso soup was also very watery and bland. Maybe this place was good several years ago but it’s certainly a huge disappointment now. There are way better sushi restaurants nearby, save your money and avoid this place!

Ajisai is one of the top sushi places in Vancouver due to its consistency! Never disappoint ordering anything off the menu, it’s always has the freshest ingredients!
