This is a nice Italian-style cafe in Kerrisdale that offers a pretty good breakfast/lunch menu, as well a small asortment of fresh-baked goods. I had a Carrot Cake and a Banana Chocolate Muffin for my weekend treat. I was really pleasantly surprised by how tasty the muffin was; it’s certainly one of the better ones that I’ve had. If you happen to be in the area and need a quick bite/treat, I’d recommend checking this place out.Banana Chocolate Muffin ($3.20):4/5First of all, I was REALLY happy to see that the muffin had a large top, which in my (and Seinfield’s) opinion is the best part of the muffin. The muffin itself was delicious and among one of the best that I’ve ever had: soft, moist, and mildly sweet. Unfortunately, I did find the banana flavour to be a little too subtle, and I would have liked more chocolate (practically all of the chocolate chips were clustered to the very top with very few in the rest of the muffin).Carrot Cake ($3.95):3.5/5The cake was very moist, chock-full of shredded carrots and raisins, and had a nice bit of spice. The cream cheese frosting was studded with walnuts and quite sweet – I didn’t mind the sweetness, but I think that there are others with lower sugar tolerance who’d might find it off-putting. I did find that the cake had a subtle aftertaste that I think might be baking soda.
Popped in for a cappuccino because I really didn’t want a Starbucks when there’s a local place right there. Friendly gal made my drink and it was pretty good!! It was piping hot and I finished it within the hour.
Went for a healthier breakfast choice with the Denver omelette, which was definitely overdone but had a lot of veggies and ham. Squashed potatoes were pretty good, especially the crispy skin parts.
terrible lunch food. had a chicken wrap. had to pick out the hunk of cheese in it. terrible sauce. Didn’t finish it as my last bite tasted a bit off..had a stomach ache the rest of the day. will not go back. this place used to be so good!
Great coffee, a lot of variety in food. Ice cream, pizza, sandwiches, mochas, coffee. I love the coffee, it’s a great looking space as well. But the service is awful! Dishes left everywhere, a bunch of young immature workers who don’t seem to care. Disappointing service.
Just fabulous. This is my kind of place – a wide variety of food, ethnic dishes from around the world and rotating specials, in the back of the place, great coffee and tea in the front. I really appreciate the reasonable prices, especially for Vancouver! I like the open atmosphere, a homey feel where you can be yourself and relax. The menus will appeal to any pocketbook. Portion sizes are plenty, prices are low, and the food & drink very good. It’s a place I’d regularly hang out with friends for an afternoon (or morning!).
Garbage. Been here a couple times and I don’t get this place at all. Terrible service, bad coffee and mediocre food at best. I’ve given up hope that I was just having bad experiences.
