Rude staff, expensive, small portions. The hostess is a bitter 40 year old woman and orders of $15 or less must be paid in cash. It costs $11.50 for the piddliest plate of salmon sashimi. Full meal was $17.00 with a bowl of ebi sunomono. There are three sushi restaurants on the same block – go elsewhere!
Sami. One Wednesday afternoon late last Spring I was in the area so I decided to pop in for lunch. It was around 1:30pm and all the small tables down the right side of the place were occupied but every single one of the larger tables making up 2/3 of the seating were totally empty. The waitress indicated the counter for me to sit at but I wanted to sit at a table. When I indicated towards the empty tables she said no. At that time of the day on a Wednesday there was absolutely no chance there was going to be a late lunch rush but clearly they didn’t want my money badly enough to accommodate my preference so I turned around and walked out. I have not been back since. Extremely poor customer service and the quality of their food is not at all what it used to be like 4-5 years ago. Sad, but no loss to me as there are many other sushi places to eat in this city without supporting one who doesn’t seem to care about potential customers.
Food fine, service awful. Decent enough donburi, but the food is seriously overshadowed by one of the staff. One of the waitresses seems to hate life, people, and apparently her business, judging by the other reviews. She yelled at me for daring to pay with a debit card (to clarify, they accept them, she just doesn’t like to) and then stormed around fulfilling my order until she practically threw it at me. And that is the last time I will ever go there. Go to Shota up the street. Better food and WAY nicer servers.
Ok food – terrible service!!!. We waited an hour for our take out order and while we waited, other people picked up orders that had just called in!! Then the owner is mad and yelling at us because we complained and asked if she was going to give us any discount. No way she said!Next time we’ll go to Temaki on Broadway!! excellent food and always friendly service!
Pretty good sushi just pretty good sometimes dissapointing. The real crab california rolls for example charge for crab which can often be hard to find as an example. The real standout however can be the often poor service who make you feel like you don’t deserve the sushi which they are serving you which is the reason we have stopped going.
Too much money for too little, Mediocre food.
Unfriendly service, expensive sushi, stale and soggy tempura. Tiny dynamite roll and just not a nice place. I would seriously avoid!When my takeout order was ready the waitress threw it on the table at me and walked away.
