  Unlike other hot pot restaurants, this place offers dry pot dishes which are quite unique. The spices are nicely blended which reminded us of Szechuan Cuisine. We love the heat of level 3 but definitely will try level 4 next time we visit! The food is tasty like other Szechuan dishes, and we like the fact that we can choose the toppings that we can mix in the pot.The ambience is quite basic. Those who love Szechuan food may come here for the food rather than the place.

  Everybody has her/his own taste. Personal speaking, their food is one of the best in that category. Be sure to try the red bean soup (as a dessert or just eat in the beginning).3.5/5

  Chef Pin Restaurant is located on Kingsway Vancouver. Its a small Chinese restaurant specializing in Sichuan style dry pots.My friends always wanted to eat Spicy Crab. Since all the good spicy crab restaurants are in Richmond far away, we found Chef Pin has spicy crab in the menu. So, we decided to give this place a try.My friend, her roommate and I went to Chef Pin on Monday evening. We arrived at the restaurant before 6 pm. The location of the restaurant is very easy for people to find it. 5 10 mins away from Joyce Skytrain Station. Its a very small restaurant. Inside the restaurant, a couple two people tables and only a few big tables. Because we made a reservation, we didnt even wait and got the table right the way.After we sat down, the server brought drinks and menu to us. The menu is very simple without any picture and price of the food. We have to ask the server to provide the price for us. Spicy Crabs are very expensive about $60 for a pot without any topping. Spicy Chicken Wings are around $25. After discussed, we decided to go with Spicy Chicken wings instead of our original plan.The food came out of the kitchen fast. The taste of the food was similar to the Spicy Crab Pot that we had before. But, it has less flavors. Instead of the crab, we had chicken wings. We had a medium spicy, which was not spicy at all.   so then, my sister did recommend me for this place, really grateful she told me this place, so this is the first time i came for a dry hotpot type of cuisine, so what’ is it exactly? think of it as cooked items marinated in szechuan flavours, lots of chillies, and spices such as pepper corn, cilantro, garlic and some type of oil i initallly thought was sesame but it might be something else. but overall the ingredients were definitely okay, they were marinated well, and it tasted pretty awesome as well. then as for the pot base i chose the dry ribs and chicken wings, both doesn’t have much difference in taste both are incredibly delicious 😀 and then i was surprised to be given slices of watermelon to start with, very chinese ktv type of treatment or like in clubs in china… lol but nevertheless would recommend this place, price wise it’s little bit more pricy but it’s definitely worth it, spent around $140 for $35 per person but was really full. mangkr.wordpress.com
