Maybe it’s because this was usually a late night stop for my boyfriend and I on the way home from nights downtown drinking, but I always loved the food here! We no longer live in the area but still make the commute once in a while, even if only for the spring rolls. No, it’s not fine dining and yes, sometimes noodles get overcooked (they are ALWAYS packed, ever made rice noodles at home? They overcook in seconds) Anyways, love this place. I’ve been in out of town since July and this will be my first dining stop!
We wanted a bowl of noodles on a rainy day, Gold Train was nearby and it was late so we dropped in. We ordered a spicy bowl a long with two salad rolls and two spring rolls. The broth was nice and spicy but not over powering. The salad rolls were really fresh and the spring rolls weren’t greasy. If you’re looking for a quick, hearty bowl of noodles we’d recommend Gold Train. However, don’t expect service to be good.
I had a green bean milkshake with some rice paper rolls so that is all I can comment on here. Everything was Ok & passable, butnothing special & service was not great. The prices were pretty reasonable so can’t complain
Service is rather inconsistent; some are friendly, some not so much. Portions are also smaller than most places, but the prices would be the same.. Pho is okay, but the rice noodles are slightly mushier than other places. Usually, I opt for the vermicelli or rice bowls instead.
When we got here we changed our minds for a to go the old guy told us to move cause they need the table like how can you do that were already seated cant they wait for us to order something.. is it because its for to go and he’ll tell us to move to the side.. what a customer service ei… don’t feel like coming back
Hands down the most pathetic place I’ve ever dealt with got take out beef stew and literally it wasn’t even a quarter full in this tiny plastic bowl they give also got a viet sub which was disgusting and not made properly and I paid 15$ for it all and I literally ate only an egg ..don’t waste your time there’s a lot of other choices for viet food waste of money and there attitudes all suck except for the guy who works there
The pho is decent here but their viet sandwiches are awful… Also once they gave me the 3 colour dessert with spoiled sour coconut milk but i complained and they gave me a new one.
