We were thrilled to finally get a chance to check this place out. Amazing service with a nice ambience. I highly recommend the bread with smoked beef tallow. The olive oil poached salmon was so good!!! So many dimensions in just one dish. I was also very impressed with the beer selection. We will go back! Thank you to our lovely server, so helpful.

Was there last night for an early dinner. Absolutely amazing service, food, drinks, atmosphere. General manager, Jeff, does an outstanding job with running the place. Would definitely recommend!

Finally. It’s been awhile and on summer solstice, I have finally visited. The ambiance was typical – minimalist and warm. The staffs were very friendly and mindful of our needs. I was extremely impressed of the way they have programmed their POS in a way that makes splitting the bill super easy. Food wise, the portion for the sharing dishes were rather small which makes it overall a little more pricey. However, the menu was designed in a very simple fashion but I find that 3 larger plates may not be enough or perhaps they could consider providing a few more smaller plates. Choices for vegetarians are limited. Presentation of the food was executed very well. When the feature risotto came, I was still able to smell the slightly seared salmon. The food was really refine and delicate. The chef has a good handle of making sauces with egg and seems to be a commonality across many of the dishes such as the mussels in the Pernod sabayon. I like the overall experience but I am not sure if it is worth the crown of the best restaurant in Vancouver.

Came here with a heavy heart after an exam and got a bar seat. Been wanting to try this for half a year and finally…The starter duck pate was cheaper than other places. Then came the scallops perfectly seared but the capers made it a little bland at the end of each bite. The dessert was refreshing at the end not too heavy and i got a free shot at the end by the bar manager! Really love this place for the friendly people working there.

AnnaLena is one of 20 BC eateries that make Canada’s 100 best restaurants list: https://www.google.ca/amp/vancouversun.com/life/food/20-vancouver-eateries-make-canadas-100-best-restaurants-list/amp I also have been wanting to try this restaurant since last year. Finally I came here with three friends for dinner this week. This restaurant is good at tapas, so people can share dishes. There were 12 dishes on the dinner menu. We literally nixed 4 dishes out of 12 on the list. We tried everything except oysters, beers, grains and beef. All the dishes tasted extraordinary delicious especially the bread!! The bread looked simple but once we had a bite, we were addicted to it!! The restaurant changes the dinner menu on a regular basis, so you should come and try their dishes instead of just one or two. The portion of each dish was small, so it would be best to order more dishes to share and fulfill the stomach. The customer service was extraordinary well. Our server always paid attention to our table, made sure to clean our table on a regular basis (i.e. Cleaned our table and took away our dirty plates, forks and knives after each dish) and gave us new plates and cutleries. He was awesome! We were too full at the end, so we only tried and shared one dish of desserts. We ordered chocolate (dark chocolate coffee ganache, passion fruit gel, vanilla yogurt sorbet). We liked it especially the vanilla yogurt sorbet. Our server gave each of us a banana jelly along with our bill in AnnaLena’s envelope. Although the bill was more expensive than the regular ones, it was worth to come here at least once to try this restaurant.
