We enjoyed our Boccone pizza. The tomato sauce brings to mind fresh tomatoes from the field. The meats were good. The crust was light. I could almost eat another one.The romaine lettuce salad was a disappointment. Not worth $14.00. Salad dressing was boring. If the salad was better, we would have ranked our experience a 4.0.We would not order the salad again, but would defintely come again for pizza.
Arrived at the Hostess was friendly and seated us right away. Our waitress was at our table very soon with minimal waiting. Made some great suggestions. Pizza was authentic Italian style and I found this to be just average. Service was great and then starter salad was amazing. It was a soft cheese with tomato basil and balsamic vinegar drizzle. Amazing
Food was meh. Not that great and very expensive for what it was. We ordered the olives (should have been warmed, seasoning underwhelming), the prosciutto e funghi pizza (crust was good, although they used ham and not actual prosciutto) and the melanzane, which was probably the best dish. Service was brutal. We waited 15 mins for drinks only to be told they were out of peroni. Overall was surprised to see other Italians eating there given the disparity between the quality of the food and the prices.
I don’t think we’ve had such poor service in a long time. The bartender was our server but we barely saw him. He never asked us if we wanted drinks, so we had to stick with waters. We only saw him when he seated us with waters, took our order (only asked about food), and came with the bill. Very unfriendly, unpleasant guy. We wanted wine/beer but he never came by our table, so we could never ask. Food was OK. Gnocchi with tomato sauce was a bit mushy but decent taste. Spaghetti carbonara was nice. Wanted dessert but gave up waiting for our server to come by. Probably won’t return.
Absolutely delicious!. Visiting Vancouver & after long day of biking around Stanley Park w/ the family, we searched for good Italian restaurant. Tried Bibo on a whim & it was fantastic! We were seated quickly in great spot at window. Friendly staff. Enjoyed a couple of glasses of fresh & crisp Pinot Grigio. Brushetta was amazing! I had veg ravioli – creamy & yummy. Hubby had the gnocchi – he was very pleased with his choice as well! Definitely would visit again when back in Vancouver.
Bland and Middling: Two Nos and one Yes. This was an extremely hit-and-miss experience, mainly the former. My dining-companion enjoyed the flavours and texture of the spaghetti carbonara. My gnocchi were of poor homemade quality — flavourless, nearly formless and flabby, and with a bland sauce any home cook with good skills could better. They clearly never saw a finishing touch in the frying pan with dab of butter. The shared appetizer, eggplant parmigiano, was very greasy and totally bland and had been miked in the wave, we suspected, more than once. The Italian waiter was charming and efficient and fun after an initial rather perfunctory service. Still, why a pepper-mill did not instantly arrive is odd in an Italian place that has the obvious pretenses of this one. (Yeah, granny’s favourite was in a pepper shaker on the table already: not a good sign of discriminating diners or an attentive chef). On the basis of this visit, no recommendation, and I certainly wouldn’t return lest it be to try the pizza. Pizzeria possibly. An Italian eatery? No! E un catastrofe!
