A decent place for brunch – farm to table restaurant. They have a small selection of brunch menu, which is executed very well. The farmers muffin (scrambled eggs, sausage patty, bacon jam in between an English muffin) was delicious. The service was excellent. Fable’s crew are attentive and welcoming. We will definitely come back!
I dont typically take time to write reviews, so hopefully that will only help prove how awesome this place is. I came here for the first time for my boyfriends birthday. We had heard great things but were simply blown away. The food was complex, original and simply divine. We shared the house special appetizer of burrata with potato croquettes which we couldnt get enough of. For mains, we got the smoked duck breast and the scallops & pork belly. We also for a serving of cornbread on the side to share. Everything was to die for. But what made that even better? We had incredible service. Our waitress was kind, engaging, thoughtful and so sweet. She treated us impeccably and always ensured we had everything we needed.
Unfortunately a fairly large group (10-12?) was seated at the same time with us. 3 small children, sometimes running around and screaming. So not quite what I was expecting for a Friday night dinner on 4th ave. Our server was quite honest and apologized for the delay of our service due to the large group. He comp’d an appetizer dish which was very generous. I think it took almost 35 mins to get our apps, and maybe almost an hour for our mains. By the time the mains finally came out I had already lost my appetite from the waiting. Also, my duck breast was on the rare side, I’m guessing because the kitchen was rushed to catch up on our order.Honestly I would have preferred eating somewhere else if the hostess that accepted my reso told me there wasn’t any availability for my time slot because there was a large group. Our server did however offer a $50 gift certificate to come back which was again very generous but I’m not sure if I would go back. Alot of hype for this restaurant but weak execution.
My husband and I came here for our anniversary. I like the decor of the restaurant, it looked rustic and romantic but it was quite noisy and it was full house. For the appetizer, we had chickpea fritters and it was very tasty. It was the combination of sweet and sour flavour which was delicious. For entrees, we had the pasta of the day and the scallop and pork belly with salad and hummus. Both dishes were delicious. My husband love the scallop and pork flavour but he did complain the scallop and pork belly dish was very small portion. I loved the pasta, it was very flavourful. For dessert, we ordered the maple syrup cake with a scoop of ice cream on top. We both found the dessert was a too sweet and a disappointment. The customer service was friendly and very efficient in cleaning the dirty dishes. We love the food here but we do find the price is expensive for the small entree portions.
Fresh, local ingredients. Great service and kids friendly. We always go there for lunch/brunch. I like their menu very much. The French toast with fresh fruit is delicious. The pasta is also fresh, tasty.
One of my favourites in Kitsilano for both brunch and dinner. Service is always fantastic, the ambiance is great and the food is usually spectacular. 9/10
1st visit during Dine-out Vancouver and it was a positive experience. Staff were friendly and welcoming and the ambiance is cozy and laid back. Food was delicious and love the fact that they use fresh local ingredients. Prices are great too considering the quality of the food. Love their ginger soda!! Will definitely be back for their regular menu.
