Don’t know why all the negative reviews about bad service, we had no issues and the food was better than average. Is it me or has anyone else felt the general quality of Greek food in Vancouver has slowly gone downhill. Maria’s is on my list when looking for Greek in Kits.
Extremely disappointed in this restaurant, especially considering its favourable reviews in the past. While appetizers (tzatziki, hummus and saganaki) were good, service was rude and unprofessional, with very little concern for the customers. Our visit culminated in having the waitress notify us (without any attempt at an apology and after waiting 30 minutes) that she had forgotten to place our order for our main dishes. She did not attempt to rectify the situation by putting a rush on our order, and offered to comp one of our appetizers but didn’t. We left straight after.Quaint and cozy, this restaurant has the potential to be great. May want to invest in better servers, however.
Vancouver’s Worst. Worst service, looooong wait for over cooked food after placing the orders, and everything is very salty. Server rude, with poor attitude. Waiting forever to place orders, after placing orders waiting forever for food to come. Being in a restaurant, there was no food being served on our table. Everything has to be requested then slowly delivered. It is not like this place is busy, there was no other people except us and only a couple of orders from us. The kitchen could not keep the quality of food, cooking time and serving time up??? It is shocking with the level of service, the quality of food, this place can be considered as a restaurant.Even if I am paid to go back, I won’t.

Opa!. Never been a big fan of greek food, and wouldn’t have guessed this unassuming w 4th joint would change my mind. went here for dinner with my family, and everyone left happy. a bottle of wine, fried cheese with lemon appy, and the dine out menu made for an all around great experience. my gf even had enough left for lunch the next day. the place is a little cozy, but if you’re with good company you won’t even notice.
The food is pretty good and fresh, including the tzatziki, just don’t order an extra side of it or it will cost u $5.95! The atmosphere is classic traditional Greek. Decent, just don’t expect a party here.
Have been to just about every Greek restaurant around and Maria’s is by far the best!! So fresh and delicious!!!
