Just up one block from Kits Beach is The Ellis, a half bar, half restaurant. Personally I wish they’d just change to a full restaurant because their food is really quite good… and I don’t drink.Service was attentive and friendly and everything we ordered was great. Chicken nuggets for my five year-old was met with rabid enthusiasm. Crunchy and juicy… the others at the table found it hard not to sample them too. The Arugula and Cranberry Salad was equally good and was unanimously complimented by all. Lamb Curry seemed out of place here but was tender and delicious anyways. The Hickory Smoked Ribs were also a hit. Tender and falling off the bone… although I probably would have preferred coleslaw to the fries, just to cut the heaviness a bit.All in all an enjoyable experience… and if they ever decide to downplay their bar and become more of a restaurant, we’ll be back.
