Unfortunately not a good experience in any way. My shrimp and tofu soup was a congealed mass that looked like warm head cheese. The huge heap of chicken chow mein noodles was, amazingly, dry and greasy at the same time, with only very few traces of chicken and vegetables. The place smelled bad and it was very dirty. I feel bad about leaving such a negative review, but they should try to do better than that.
So their website was completely messed up! I guess partly my fault that I believed the confirmation email and the website I ordered off of that told me my food was arriving in 45 minutes. But it let me order food that wasn’t going to come for 4 hours. When it didn’t come after an hour tried to call with no luck. I feel like a fool but with 2 separate confirmations that it was coming in 45 minutes I think their online ordering process needs a revamp….
Came back to try Timkee after my roommate ordered from them. The place was kind of small and gave us the vibe that they are more focused on takeout/delivery rather than eating-in. Fair enough. The variety of dishes made up for it anyway. There are tons of options to choose from so you will never get bored, especially if you like beef or seafood (orange peel beef anyone?). We came out so full we could barely walk, lol.TL; DR: Good place to try if you are looking for Chinese
Nice little Chinese shop on Kitsilano. Lots of plates to share with and choose from. We had the shanghai noodles, fish & chicken hotpot, and wontons which came out very flavourful and not too expensive. Huge portions though! Service is friendly and casual but can be a little slow for us impatient ones. I would advice to either come during off/slow hoursor simply getting some take-out.
Second time’s the charm?. As a big asian and Chinese food lover, I love to visit different places around the city and scout for the best ones. This time it was the turn for Chinese, and since we were going home after class passing kits, we decided to stop by to pick up some food. I had been here before, and had a less than perfect impression of them. I usually am not generous to places that fail to give me a good first impression, but this one’s taste and flavour won me over. Honey chicken & sweet n sour pork were good.
Hot pot spot!. Good value Chinese around the area, wouldn’t have known about it if it were not for my work colleagues. Love the fact that it’s walking distance from work, which is super convenient to me esp. during lunch hours. The food is actually quite nice, not too greasy or overtly-saucey and served in generous portions. Shout out to the people there and its hot pots – the house special and satay beef are delish!
