Very disappointing. Chicken in the teriyaki roll was dry, teriyaki don and spicy tofu don had 3 small lines of sauce which was badly needed on account of the rice being unseasoned … how do you forget to put the sushi vinegar in the rice and not notice. They also messed up and over charged us…
I love Michael’s sushi – and so do a lot of other people because it is nearly full whenever I go. The sushi is good, the fish is fresh, and the salmon is caught wild, as you would expect from a restaurant in the heart of Ladner, an old fishing and farming village south of Richmond. Michael has created some interesting specialties in addition to the ‘regular’ sushi that you would expect to find so try anything on the menu with confidence. Brown rice is available and Michael has even made ‘diabetic’ sushi without rice for me!The prices are reasonable and the atmosphere is casual and cheery in this little restaurant. It is a favorite with high school students at lunchtime so you’ll want to get there early to get a seat on a school day. There are a few tasty non- sushi items on the menu for people who like their fish cooked and vegetarian sushi too. In a village with five sushi restaurants, this little restaurant is a great choice if you like your sushi freshly made and the company good.
Fujisan smiles upon the small and large alike. My third visit to the Mount, I liked the clubby atmosphere where everyone likes to call the chef, and I am assuming owner, by his first name, nice and loud. I felt like I wanted to be part of the action and in on that club, but alas I am only a third timer. Average to street level Sushi with no surprises or challenging dishes. Clean enough with a battle worn appeal. It is a bit like having a Japanese/Korean family next door you can visit for dinner.
Sadly disappointed. This place has one things going for itself in my books, the owners are lovely. Sadly the food was not. I had box 1, with an avocado roll instead of california roll. The roll was fishy smelling, and I had no fish! The gyoza tasted chewy and like they had been microwaved. The chicken teryiaki was so dry with almost no sauce. Rainbowcrab felt sick as we were driving home. We will not be going back
Everything I’ve had here so far has been delicious! the canadian roll is my favourite, which I’m sure sushi purists turn their noses up at. ;)I have yet to have a bad experience eating here, and actually have only heard good things from friends as well. do recommend!
Fabulous!. I’m from Richmond and have had tons of sushi but this one takes the cut!!! The salmon Sashimi was WILD SALMON and really fresh and good! Their rolls are excellent too! I will be driving out to Ladner for sushi from now on!!
Suprise!. The Suprise Roll is amazing! I go out of my way to drive into ladner to get it! And everyone that I’ve introduced to it agrees!
