Phew!. After all the not-so-brights, nice new management, pleasant bar people, good food (at last!), good atmosphere, and quite a few old faces coming back to the neighbourhood pub! Had a great Club Sandwich (which the noise-loving young ones had never heard of!) and the fries are magnificent! Must try!
New owner. Ma Miller’s is now under the manament of Mike Holmes, Mike has 25 years exprience in the hospitality industry includes being a chef. He was a partner at the Tudour house for over 10 years. Ma’s is back to being a nieghbour hood pub. chicken wings and pizza are great Give it a try
Pub Changes. I think the new changes to the pub is a great idea, the human body is a wonderful thing and should not be seen as a bad thing. I have seen worse things in langford, like the destruction of hall,s field which used to be a beautiful place to hike and see wildlife,or all the condo’s being built there which has caused many of people who had invested in that area for many years to have to move on to make way for all these new small property housing and projects. Ma Miller’s has been by Goldstream park longer then I have been and they used to have strippers back then. So bring on the girls! Good job on the management for bring back something from the past out there. P.S. the foods great with a nice atmosphere.
Dingy with Poor Service. Best burger and wings I have had in any pub…but the service couldn’t be worse!An hour wait for food, and we had to go up to the bar to get our own drinks as our server was too busy socializing with the Jersey Shore washouts.And the pub itself is filthy, dirty tables all around ours, debris all over the floor, and so loud!
Ma Millers Club or Pub?. We always go to pubs on the weekend, as we don’t like danceclubs. Living in the west shore, we decided to cab out on St. Patricks day to Ma Millers Pub…. if that’s what you wanna call it… a pub…?The night had just started, and we were enjoying a beverage and some average food. There was a person playing on the stage, but we were distracted by the young crowd filing in, being disrespectful, picking up chairs, playfighting, yelling over the music, spilling beer, ect.They had taken up the whole corner of the pub. After we ate, the musician quickly packed up, and all of a sudden the bar turned into a nightclub.The music was loud, and booming and I couldn’t even talk without yelling. The younger group started getting more energetic, and we noticed there was no security at the doors. We decided to go somewhere else, as this place was a madhouse by 9pm and had bad news written all over it. We have spent many a good time there in the past enjoying mellow music,karaoke, playing pool, and having a good time in such a quaint community. After discussing with a few friends, We did not know about the changes,and I have heard that this is an occuring theme at this place now, and they are even bringing in strippers and stuff. Too bad to see such an iconic place go by the wayside. I wonder how many regulars go there who live close by now? Maybe they should open up a pub there where families can eat before 9, to utilize the campground in the summer, and the new subdivisions going up in the area ? We won’t go back anytime soon, there are still a few pubs left in the west shore we can go to. You don’t know what you had until it is gone, and Ma Millers is gone for now.
Secret lap dances!. Mutton dressed up as lamb, and I’m not talking about the food! Never expected a strip joint in a quiet village. The owners must be writing their own good reviews!10 Feb, 2012Disappointing.. Higher prices, lower quality food, loud pounding music, strippers coming in (?), they are deserting their local clientele. Trying to bus in the young ‘noisies’ at weekends, but the regulars are deserting in droves.
