Good food Probably the most consistent. They also have a decent selection of sushi. There steak sauce is delightful. The new renovations are great!

Way more improved than it used to be, great buffet. The pork fried rice is the bomb. The salt and pepper squid was great. The snowpea and chicken was really good.

Worst take out chinese food ever! Chow mein was burnt, beef and broccoli ratio was absurd and who serves sweetened desert egg rolls when u order an egg roll? Will never order from here again, what a waste of $50

Bang for your buck. May Gold has been around for a while now. I love Chinese Buffet, so we go about once a month (maybe every 6 weeks). The food selection has pretty much stayed the same for years, so I know what I’m going to get. The quality is good (not great but good). Service is irrelevant to me when I visit buffets, they get me my drink and make sure I get refills frequently. There are busy periods that will have you waiting for a table but I’ve never waited longer than 10 mins. There is a worst time to go and that is about 1 hour before closing (both lunch and dinner) they tend to let the dishes get empty and reduce the fills (prevents a huge waste so understandable). It’s not (in my opinion) the place for a romantic dinner, but then I’ve never thought a buffet as a place to take a date. Seating is comfortable. If your a fussy whiner you won’t enjoy, if you Ike Chinese food buffets it’s great.

I was in Langford always wanted to try. I found the food there really good. We had to wait for a bit to get some dishes but well worth the wait.

Quality varies — Buffet better than the Take Out. This has been a family fave for years. The quality of the buffet varies but generally is good enough we feel satisfied and fulll. The one time I had take out, it was awful. Burned. Definitely lesser quality than ever had at the buffet. Sorry to say I think the inferior stuff goes out the door. The sushi is usually good but once it was absolutely nasty. One time out if many is pretty good. I have never had service problems. If you are nice to them, they are nice to you. They are Chinese (duh) so cultural differences will prevail. (lived in China–nothing atypical about what experienced at May Gold, except nicer lol). If want a decent buffet and decent (Westernized) Chinese food, it’s perfect. Try the Spring Rolls. They are sweet inside but with soy sauce they are some kind of sweet n savory mouth orgasm. 😉

Worst food ever. Hands down worst Chinese food I’ve ever had. And wayyyy over priced. Big disappointment. Will never ever go back there again. We did the takeout buffet. 17 dollars each for a tiny box to fill up and half the trays were empty.
