Fish was ok. Rest was just garbage, tartar sauce comes in a kraft like container, coleslaw was so terrible we threw it away, they must be buying it in big containers pre shredded, we lots of preservatives on it. The taste was so chemical testing it was horrible. Would never go back!
This place has amazing fish and chip meals. The one thing that is needed is an updated eating area maybe with service. That way you arent having to get up every time you need something.
The fries were under-cooked and cold (like recently frozen). Fish was mediocre. Very few prawns in breaded prawn order. This is my first negative review. I’m sorry! 🙁
Terrible service. New menu. Don’t want fries , still must pay for them. At one time you could get fish and cold slaw. Now must pay for fries and $3 for cold slaw. Won’t be going back . Server was also rude!
Fish Mediocre. Had some high hopes and thought the fish would be so fresh that you would smell the brine…It was not to be. The haddock was so so and chips were almost wooden, and in sparing portions. But the tartar sauce and gravy were nice and abundant. That’s all I can say. Hope they will do better and after all it was not that difficult to get fish and chips fried right. Langford deserves a really good fish ‘n chips joint.
I thought the food was very good. The fish was fresh and the service very good. I was impressed with the homemade tartar sauce in a big squeeze bottle unlike the small little cup which is the norm elsewhere. I will go back even try the take out in the future
Worst fish & chips I have ever had…. Our family ordered take out fish and chips as a treat one night, new to the area, we thought we would give Salty’s a try. I thought it was a bit overpriced, but when we got home to eat it (a mere 3 minute drive) it was inedible. The fish was under-cooked and soggy/wet, the chips were limp – we had waited 15 minutes for our order, so I have to believe that they made it while we waited, but it was awful. We LOVE fish & chips, and threw most of it away – my kids wouldn’t even eat it! I contacted Salty’s via their website to tell them about our experience, and it’s been 3 weeks and I still haven’t heard back. It seems their customer service matches the quality of their food.
