Best sushi I’ve had in a long time, we stumbled into this place after googling sushi in the westshore, we were tired of akimi and had seen sushi langford in passing but thought it was just another dingy little hole but were pleasantly surprised by lovely decor, friendly staff and freaking good food! Now we frequent this place quite a bit. Prices are good, food is excellent and service is mostly good. The monkey brain is super, rolls aren’t soggy and the sashimi is always really fresh. Would highly recommend.
We’ve heard good things about this restaurant but we were totally disappointed about the service during our visit. First we asked for some wasabi, but the waitress got us giner instead of wasabi. Then the tempura we ordered never showed up. When we nicely asked for it, the waitress was rude and kept saying that she definitely served it to us. So we let her check all our plates and convinced her that we never got it. She went away for a few minutes and came back three times to ask if we were sure that we didn’t get it or if we forgot we had it. It got me really mad because it was such a waste of our time! What is the point of us lying about a six dollar dish when we already ordered over $100. When the waitress finally brought us the dish, she was extremely rude and didn’t even look at us to apologize. We didn’t eat it because we were too angry but we paid for it plus 15% tip for the cook. Nothing will bring us and all our friends back ever again.
Nigiri Platter. Picture doesn’t do this justice. Beautiful presentation.25 Jan, 2015This is a hidden gem. Menu is varied with both traditional food and made for North Americans food. Good prices. Only negatives were one of the servers was rushed and didn’t seem to have very good listening skills. She misunderstood our order, cleared our table before we were finished, and also brought us our bill before our last dish arrived. All was pleasantly rectified and the server apologized to us for her mistakes. The
Best in langford. Definitely the best sushi place in Langford. The guys who work at the sushi counter are always in a good mood and you always get a nice greeting when you walk in. I’ve never been disappointed with the sushi and the service is always fast. It’s moderately priced, not the cheapest sushi you’ll ever find but I would say it’s worth what you pay.
Butterfly Roll. 4.5 stars out of 505 Jan, 2015Just FABULOUS and welcoming always!. I absolutely love this sushi place we tried a few different ones before we tried here. Their prices per amount of food is phenomenol. the service has almost always been above expected but when not as efficient there’s always others walking by tables willing to help out. We’re ALWAYS greeted on entrance and ALWAYS thanked and saluted have a great night when leaving. It’s a very clean well decorated restaurant, as well I love that you don’t feel the need to dress to the top ten when you want to go for some good sushi. In saying that you also don’t feel uncomfortable when dressing up for a romantic or making an evening out of it. My favourite items are the tuna tataki and the monkey brains!
